My post may not be favorable, but I wanted to share because of all of the negative posts I see about how horrible Disney World cast members are.

We have been to Disney World more times than I can count. We are also members/owners and therefore have gone plenty of times to see the decline in everything.

There are always grumpy people regardless of where you go. I have encountered some pretty rude cast members in Disney World myself. Overall, they are pretty awesome and love their jobs and most guests.

We are currently in Disneyland California and wow is the culture here different. We have found all of the cast members to be unfriendly, curt and rude when answering questions. They just cant be bothered. This is not limited to a certain area, but everywhere that we have been. Disneyland, California Adventure, character meet and greets, restaurants, stores, you name it.

Perhaps it is the culture of California, because the guests here are horrible. I have never seen such horrible behavior from adults in all of my life. There are so many adults throwing shoulders to get ahead in lines, roaming around looking at their cell phone and then get mad when you almost (accidentally) trip them for not watching their surroundings and the "grown-ups" who jump lines in a way that far exceeds catching up with their party. I do not think I have heard one person say excuse me.

Disney World CMs (most) are courteous, helpful, friendly and enjoy guests. I have a whole new respect for WDW CMs. They are truly some wonderful and professional people.

I'm from NY, grew up there, and have been to WDW more times than I can count. In my early 20's I moved to AZ, and now in my early 30's have moved to CA. We've been to DL 4 times now. I can tell you without a doubt in my mind, it's an east coast/west coast thing. I always laugh when someone asks me if it's true that NYers are unfriendly or rude, b/c it's the complete opposite. I've never encountered ruder people than the west coast. The whole atmosphere in DL is so different, and NO ONE says excuse me. It's just a very different vibe. Friends and family ask why we'd pay all that money to travel to WDW when we have DL so close. One of many reasons is the CM's.

I would agree with you about people from NY. We have been there on vacation several times and have never felt like people were rude. In a hurry, absolutely, but not rude. I support some pretty big customers/businesses, most in NY, and they are my favorite clients to work with.

I agree, DH and I went to DL for the first time ever in January. We went to WDW on our honeymoon last April. I did not encounter any rude CMs, but I noticed that in general they seem much more lax just in standing around at the rides and chatting to each other.
