Hi everyone. I have been keeping my eye on these boards, and I finally decided to try to call and see about using the code. I gave him the 3 letter code, and asked if I am eligible for the discount. (We already have our reservations Sept. 28th -Oct. 3rd at Pop) He said we can use it as long as include the dining plan in our package. The price of our package went from 1511.24 to 1798.64, and now includes the dining plan. Is this the same thing as the 40 % off code? He didn't mention 40 % off, he just said "I can get you a deal". Does this seem right? I am a little bit nervous about the whole thing. Anyone told the same thing?

I wonder if Disney Travel Agents are now allowed to negotiate prices just as outside TA's? My dh called tonight to confirm some information and he was on the phone for 1/2 hour.

Just a thought...

here is what happened when I added dining to our package...ours went down.

Initially I booked a Poly MK view, 5 day hopper, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant, No dining $3300.

Priced it on Disney website and it's $3700 (5 nites, hoppers, dining, mk view).

Called back few weeks later applied code and added dining ~ dropped price to $2700.

My New Theory:

Reservations CM's are basically just making it up as they go.

Call back - ask to speak to a supervisor. Try to sound annoyed. I would be.

I'm not really annoyed, I am glad I got to add the dining plan at such a good price. I'm just worried that the castmember was misinformed and that this is too good to be true. Does anyone know if this is the same deal as the 40% off? I wish I could post the code that I used, but I've read that I'm not allowed.

You're right, CanadianGuy, the code is there. It says "package", but not "package w/ dining". I guess I will assume that when they say package they mean it must include dining. Either way, I am very excited that I got to use the code.....Now I have decided to try to add a night at the beginning of our reservation.....we'll see what happens when I call.

It absolutely does NOT need to include dining. If you really don't want it.. you can get that portion removed.

I swear.. *I* could run that call center better than Disney.

So I guess he was just trying to make me add the dining to get commission off of me. Hmmm. Well, that annoys me a little bit. I am going to ask about it when I call to add that night to our package. (which I am hoping I can do and still get the discounted rate!) We'll see. Thanks for the info!

I don't think anyone was trying to push dining to get extra commisssion. It's a MYW with Dining package.

Ok - turns out the code we posted is the "WITH DINING" code..

I'm working to get the not with dining code..

Harrumph.

OK that makes sense- 2 separate codes, 1 w/out dining, 1 with. So to get it all straight 1 last time, I did get the 40 % off of my room, and I added dining at full price. Is that correct? I just thought it was strange that the guy didn't seem willing to say "40 % off", that's why I wasn't sure that this was the same code everyone has been talking about. Thanks for all of the information. I love these boards!

Yes. If you didn't want dining.. there's a different code he COULD have used.. you just had a lazy CM who didn't look it up for you.

:P

I got a package with 40% off room and MYW tickets - no dining- still a package - I can call back and add dining if I want to.

You can check if you got the discount by taking the rack rate for your room (look at mousesavers.com) and figuring out what the 40% discount would be - add the full price for tickets and dining and you can see if you got the deal...

The reason I mention it this way is the first time I called the CM said oh yeah, this code is a great deal....and quoted me a price - exactly the same as if i purchased off the website with no discount...

OK
I am going to put on my asbestos undies here but people please calm down, take a deep breath and think before you type. Making accusations about why or why not a certain code is being used. I am aggravated also but I come to these boards and go to WDW to escape the regular world (notice I didn't say real world WDW is MY real world:) ) and it's attitudes and anger. dragging it in here is just a bummer squared.

Half the people on t he boards these days are P.O.d about this or that instead of here sharing there love the all things Disney like these boards were meant to be.

Sorry rant off.

Lomemythreegirls. it makes sense that your ressie go's up in a value and somebodies in a deluxe goes down. The discount is off your room portion of the bill your room is less then a third of what the Poly costs rack rate.

Depending when you are going, free dinning if it is offered would save you more money.

Good Luck and breath deep
