CM Reservation Question

I finally got a breakfast reservation at CM but it’s for 8am and we want 7am to finish and get to MK before opening. If we show up at 7am, do they seat in order of arrival or would they make us wait bc 8am? Reason I ask is bc I know the restaurant starts empty so not like they’re waiting on a table to open up.

They may sit you if an earlier reservation party is late, but if all other reservations show up you could be just sitting there for an hour.

My advice is keep looking for an earlier one, especially the night before or even morning of. People who had late nights the night before, will be cancelling some of those 7 AM ADRS.

We had the exact same situation a couple years ago. I looked constantly from our 180 day for an earlier Chef Mickey ADR with no luck - the morning of, I logged on and had my choice of earlier times to modify it to.

The table isn’t truly open if there are others with reservations booked for that time. Now if there was a 7am available reservation and you arrived early I’d say you have a better chance.

Your table isn't open. It's held for someone who actually has a 7:00 reservation. How would you feel if you were the one with a 7am reservation and arrived only to find out your "open" table had been given to someone with a later reservation and you now have to wait?

I understand. I have been there for 7am and left by 8am and the restaurant was only 1/2 full bc they sat people in shifts for the characters. I believe most character meals they assume are 90 minutes so I figured the table was open. Didn’t mean to be rude to others, just asking

7am is my favorite reservation time for CM and I have seen people turned away at that hour. So, while there's always the possibility they will seat you, there's also a good possibility they could tell you that you'll be waiting until your ADR time. I'd keep trying to get one of the earlier slots. I'm not sure when you're going, but I've noticed they do pop up pretty often whenever we're planning a trip. I've just heard so many parents who don't want anything before 8am b/c it's too early, but start out by taking what they can get. I suspect you'll get an earlier time if you just stalk for the ideal ADR time.

“your” table isn’t open at 7AM. At opening they stagger seating to allow for server and kitchen load.
If there were tables available at 7 you could book it.
