Do ALL CMs wear Mickey Mouse nametags? I'm in the process of teaching my kids what to do if they get separated from us in the parks, and I'd hate to tell them to "look for a person with a Mickey Mouse nametag" if the tags are different in the different parks. Thanks for any suggestions to help keep my kids safe!

1. All the nametags are the same.

2. Last time I looked my nametag did not have Mickey Mouse on it but a Castle.

Well that's good to know, thanks! Glad I didn't tell my kids to look for the MM ones...

Most of the nametags are white with blue writing (and a picture of a castle), however, there are a small number of folks that have received an award known as the Walt Disney Legacy Award, that will have blue nametags with white writing.

I think Imagineers have a Sorcerer Mickey, along with their name.

Anyway, I have never seen people with name tags other than CMs.

Also, the nametag is always on the CMs left side.....in case that helps! :thumbsup2

Years ago guests use to be able to purchase red ones with white lettering. You were able to put your name and city on them. They were very realistic other than the color difference.

You can also tell them to look for anybody that has the white nametag and a blue ID around their neck. That way you can be sure they're cast members. Probably managers as well.

why not just tell them to go into a gift shop and speak with the person behind the counter to say they got separated???

Lost PARENTS at WDW are the worst!!! :) The kids never get lost!!!

I had one of these! I sure wish I knew where it was...

Yea I got one of these when I did Dining With An Imagineer. They look a lot like the ones the CMs wear except they're red. My dad forgot to take his off after lunch and a whole bunch of people were asking him questions about the park.

I told my DD to "look for the people with the special nametags" if she ever got lost. Well, lo and behold, she managed to lose me! We were in the bathroom outside of the Nemo show at AK. The strollers were parked ALL the way down the walkway. My friend was waiting outside, but somehow, DD5 got by her. I was still in the restroom with DD3 and when I came out, DD5 was long gone! We started walking back toward the stroller, hoping that is where she was headed. Sure enough, here she comes, walking towards us, holding hands with a CM. He smiled at us and said that DD walked up to him and said, "I lost my mom and she told me to find someone with the special nametag. Can you help me find her?" He then said that DD was as calm as could be as she recalled the last place she'd seen me...the bathroom! He said that she did a great job!

Unfortunately, that became a little game with her! She ran off again on me at the AKL. We were coming in from the Arusha savanna and she took off up the stairs. I was a little slower since I was dragging DD3 up the stairs. I got to the top and DD5 is nowhere to be seen. Ugh! Well, it was less than a minute when she appeared, calmly holding the hand of a CM! "Look what I found, mom? Another person with a special nametag!"

Pretty much what we've told DD8 - and to yell out by our first names rather than "Mum" or "Dad" (or which ever adult she will be with.) We figure there will be a lot of Mums/Dads but not many Kylies!!! Everytime we go somewhere it will be crowded we have a quick run through. So far she has never been lost.

ETA: We tell her in the shop as it will be pretty consistent no matter where we are, not just Disney, and therefore only one set of rules.

This is one of the reasons they no longer sell the badges...
guest confusion.

No, it's not. Security and Bus Drivers are two that I can think of that wear their nametags on their right. Bus Drivers because the left side will almost never be visible. Security wears their badge on the left side (over the heart), and the nametag on the right.

I would think only Mickey Mouse would wear a Mickey Mouse name tag.

All the CM's wear name tags with there names on them.

For instance, if a CM's name were Jim, his name tag would say Jim.
If a CM were named Mickey Mouse, then their name tage would likely say Mickey Mouse.

Does that help?

I have one of them. They were also issued if you signed up for a backstage tour.

I bought Name Bubbles with my DD's first name and my cell phone number. I use them on things like cameras and such as well as putting one inside my DD's shoe. If she gets lost, she takes off her shoe and shows it to a CM so they can call me. I've never had to use it, but we practice it before we go anywhere like WDW. My DD is 6 now and knows my phone number, but I am worried that if she is scared that she might not be able to think of it, so this is a good idea even for kids who are a little older.

Just a note about ordering them: I just use first name and phone number on the medium sized ones so they print them on the top only. That way I can cut them in 1/2 and just use the top 1/2. I know this is a waste of the bottom 1/2, but it doesn't bother me. There are so many of them that it takes years for us to use them all. I put the full sticker in her shoes; just cut in 1/2 for things like small cameras.
