CM getting fired over alligator sign?

I saw the photo of the sign and the line about being "afraid" kills me, what kind of adult is freakin scared of an alligator walking through Adventure Land lol? But considering people go to WDW by their own choice yet still complain about the heat it doesn't surprise me....Grow up whimps. I really wandered off topic..

The only reason the CM got their job back was because it wasn't an official Disney sign.

As a mother of 2 curious little boys -1 who is 2. I am concerned about alligators in the park, as well as water moccasins. It used to be the argument around here was that surely everyone should know that these poisonous snakes and alligators are in every body of water. Tom Sawyer, a beloved section of the park for my kids, also has so many areas close to water, obviously. I never, of course, let them swim in pools are go into that water, but alligators, as everyone has said, come out, walk around, etc.

The CM is lucky to get her job back. A lot of corporations are very strict about what gets shared on social media. If that had been an official memo or announcement, she'd be unemployed and on her way home.

Yea, I really should have made it clear that I understand for a child's safety to be a little nervous, I meant for adults worried about their safety

She stated that she didn't care if she got fired or not. It was more important for her to be honest and warn people of possible dangers. So getting her job back was just a lucky happening. I applaud her for taking such a courageous stand. Of course we must remember that she was in the College Program so her tenure was going to be short lived anyway.

I agree that they shouldn't go around alarming guest unnecessarily, but, answering honestly is the least that should be expected. The answer is that WDW is located in the middle of Florida where swampy conditions exist and where wild life flourishes. The likelihood of any real encounters are slim, but possible, so remain alert and cautious. And stay out of the lakes and ponds and always look in the pool before just jumping in.

Common sense is all that is needed, so everyone is in deep do-do because common sense is in short supply these days.

I agree. I work for a company with very strict rules and there's no negotiating. If you post a photo of ANYTHING within the office, you are gone immediately. You are informed of that as part of the new hire orientation. There were a lot of better ways to handle this and she is VERY lucky to still be employed, since whether the sign was "official" or not, it was still in a backstage area and should not have been posted in a public social media site.

And for the record, she didn't get fired because of a sign.

She got fired because of her actions.
