CM Friends and Family Tickets

Hi all,

I apologize is this has been covered before or I'm posting in the wrong forum but I couldn't find an answer via searching.

A good friend of mine recently got a job with Disney that allows him access to purchase additional, discounted tickets online to the WDW and DL resorts. And I happen to be visiting Anaheim for a conference in a few weeks and planned on stopping by Disneyland for my first real trip as an adult (long time WDW vet).

He's graciously offered his discount to me, but as a new employee he doesn't know how it works.

If he buys the voucher/tickets for me online (via the CM site) using my credit card, does he have to be there to how his ID when I turn them in to the DL ticketing window?

Obviously if so, it won't work for us so I thought I'd check with my favorite group of Disney fans before I purchased anything.

I have never purchased the tickets myself (although I will be tomorrow, so I might be able to better answer you then), but, any cast member purchases must be paid for by the cast member. Doing otherwise could lead to penalties, including up to termination. Cast members are also not to use their discounts for other people. They can buy them as gifts, but that is it.
And since I have never done it, I have no idea if they are print outs or must be picked up. Picked up I would imagine an ID is required.

Tickets can only be paid for by CM as GIFTS for friends/family.

WDW, we can order by phone and even have them mailed directly to the friend/family's house. I have done this.

DL, we only get discount on 1 day hoppers, so not really very helpful. And cannot be ordered by phone or mailed.

PatMcDuck, 1 day single parks are also available, & if you look in the right place, multi-day use tickets as well.

Thanks so much for your replies. I definitely do NOT want to get my friend in trouble.

That being said, I'm assuming from your replies that he could potentially buy them for me as a "gift" and I could turn them in at DL without him there - right?

That is purely up to your cast member friend if they want to risk that. I most certainly would not. Especially since the savings is not significant. However, there are vouchers for friends & family use for the resort hotels. We get a limited # each year, and they do expire 90 days after being issued. CM has to pick them up, but does not need to be present for them to be used. I am actually pick some up Saturday to bring back for some of my friends.
