I would do a trip in 2020 staying in a BLT standard 2br. It doesn't stretch your points out as well as ideally you could, but I'd have your friend book those trips at the 11 mo window and then if you wanted, could look at 7 mo to see if there's something comparable that stretches your points a bit.
Are there times you'll have off from school that are not popular vacation times here? E.g. How much time do you get off for Canadian Thanksgiving? Also late August to early September are low point costs times as well. For just under 250 points, you could stay in a 2BR standard at BLT from August 31 - Sept 6, 2020. You could save about 50 points by switching to OKW at 7 mo, which is not going to get you that much in terms of another stay in a 2BR, but could get you an additional night or 2, so your trip would be 7-8 nights instead of 6. That might be worth it.
