Hello-I'm completely clueless and my wedding is June 1, 2007! I have an intimate wedding with only 10 people. I saw all of the helpful suggestions about photography etc. My question is about dinner reservations. I've never even been to Disney (sad but true) so have no clue about the reservation system and it seem complicated. Luckily we have a very small party (12 total) with all adults. How do I go about booking a dinner reservation for after the wedding? The ceremony is at SPB at 2:30 on June 1. The coordinator seems helpful if only I knew the right questions to ask.

Any and all help greatly appreciated!

My ceremony is also at Sea Breeze Point at 2:30 p.m., but in May. My coordinator suggested the 4-hour limo rental was long enough to bring the guests to the ceremony and then transport us to a restaurant of our choice. I haven't made my dinner reservation yet (too many other details to sort out first).

Other people here will have suggestions for you, of which I'm also interested in hearing. There are some choices at Boardwalk too so you don't even have to go very far from your ceremony location.

I would suggest looking at the Dis dining board and read about places that you might like to eat at. Then it really is simple call. 407-wdw-dine. I just made alot of Advance Dining Reservations (ADR's). Alot of brides go to Citrico's or maybe the Grand Floridian cafe is really good. And you can keep your dress on. GL and ask all the questions you like. Everyone is very helpful here.

I second checking out the Dining board...also check out THIS SITE for menus of all the restaurants at WDW (yes, it can be overwhelming!;) )

I'm pretty sure your coordinator will make the ADR for your (they did for us), but it also doesn't hurt to call 407-WDW-DINE and get it scheduled as soon as possible for your party.

Our wedding was at 2:00 at the Yacht Club and we managed to make the 4 hour limo rental last long enough to get to our dinner reservation. We had an amazing dinner at Palio's at the Swan and Dolphin. We had 10 people total in our party and they were able to put us in a spot that you still get to experience the restaurant, but it was still private. The food was amazing, not one person didn't like their meal! It is on Disney property, but not technically a Disney restaurant, so you have to call them directly for reservations.

I agree check the link above! That site is great!

Anyways, a thing to keep in mind, if you plan on wearing your dress to dinner, plan on eating at a resort, as they do not allow brides to wear their dresses in the parks to restaurants.

Just a curiosity question: You say you have never been to Disney? What made you decide on a Disney wedding? Just curious! :goodvibes

I recommend O'hanas.... If not for after the ceremony ,atleast sometime during your stay. Seems like the majority of brides go here at one point or another on their trip! You can look into it!

We are having an intimate wedding and having dinner at ohanna's after followed by the wishes cruise. I also had a difficult time deciding where to eat but I have been to ohanna's and loved it!!!

I've never been to any of the Disney's but they have a nice offer for really small weddings that I hoped would save me alot of coordination. And it seems like it will be alot of fun for everyone.

We liked the idea of staying in the Boardwalk area for dinner so everyone could walk there. It also seems like there are things to do in that area for after dinner. We are all staying at POFQ but can arrange for transportation if needed.

Anyway, originally liked the idea of bluezoo but noone has called us back and now my DF is having 2nd thoughts. He likes Shula's and I really don't want to have football pics everywhere. Ohana's seem like fun but not really what we are looking for. My parents are helping out with the dinner cost and really want something a little more traditional. And my mother doesn't do boat cruises (otherwise that would be a great idea). still thinking about it for maybe the next night.

Im not sure if you know this or not, but you can use the Disney transportation to get to and from your dinner destination. You also get 4 hours of limo time... so you could have the limo take you to the ceremony-- and then take all of your guests over to O'hanas. At that point, O'hanas has the monorail system... so all of your guests could catch the monorail to their resort or take the monorail to the MK and then hop a bus back to their resort.

This goes for any restaurant around disney. I wouldnt limit yourself to the Boardwalk unless you necessarily just like the food at the restaurants there.

I had the 2:30 time slot as well and booked a 6:30 seating at the Chef's Domain at Citricos. There was loads of limo time for transportation. At Citricos I was allowed to wear my dress because it was a resort dinner, there was a wide variety of (vey good) food, and the best benefit was that there was in a private space of the restaurant.

There's a few restrictions: they can only accomadate 14 people (so you're fine) and there is a $650 spending minimum (you can guesstimate how much it will cost by looking at the menus everyone was mentioning)

To reserve just call the main line 407-WDW-DINE and ask to book the Citricos Chef's Domain.

It was the perfect place for my group for a variety of reasons (one of which was that I didn't want my guests to have to leave the Grand Floridian).

I only mention the Chef's Domain specifically because I found it difficult as an intimate to find restaurants with the separate room.

HTH!

Do we have a list or thread of Disney restaurants with separate rooms for small groups such as Citricos? I like Citricos, but I'm slightly over 14 people right now. The final number is still a moving target, so that makes it tough to book anything.

My Intimate Coordinator also mentioned if my guests stayed at the hotel where we're getting married, I can save the limo for another time. For example, to shuttle us to dinner elsewhere and then drive us all back. In most people's cases, the limo takes guests to the ceremony and then to a restaurant, but then the guests have to find their way back to the hotel since the limo rental is long expired by that time.

Actually, we used our limo service two days after the ceremony, but it was just the two of us.

Our ceremony was at 11am at SBP. We had 7:30pm reservations for dinner at California Grill (this ended up being totally not our style) and we used Disney Transportation to get there and ended up taking a cab back to the Boardwalk. I was tired or we could have taken the buses back too.

We used our limo service to take us back and forth to DTD later that week. It was a cool outing for us.

There are other places around the Boardwalk to have dinner. Flying Fish gets great reviews, Spoodles is also right there. And remember that not only are the Swan and Dolphin close, but also Beach Club and Yacht Club.

In my time here (only about a year) I've never come across such a threat. I literally stumbled across the Chef's Domain by googling "Disney restaurant private room".

I think there is also some private rooms that can be used at the Contemporary's Signature (name escapes me right now) restaurant -- the Napa room I think...I think the minimum is much higher though.

I've heard of brides using the limo for a night out to Pleasure Island etc. Using the limo to shuttle people from the POFQ worked well for me. We started the time at 1:45 at the POFQ. The limo too DF and his guests (+3) to the WP. The limo returned for me and guests (+4) at the POFQ by 2:00. My grandma and her escort were staying off site so they drove to the WP.

The limo shuttled our guests from the WP to Commader's Terrace while we had more pictures taken and then came back for us. Finally the limo took DH and I back to POFQ to take the last pictures with Randy. We also dropped off our cake and grabbed our overnight bag and were back at the GF for 5:45. 4 hours worked perfectly.

We had our reception at Cinderellas Royal Table. Our ceremony was at 12 noon and our meal was at 8. We spent the afternoon at our hotel bar and made our way to MK just in time for spectromagic. We were seated in time for the wishes finale. It was very special. They even put cinderella confetti on our table and presented us with champagne flutes.
We phoned the dining reservations, made the booking and paid for the meal.
