Is Club Villain appropriate for a 6yo? She loves the villains but I wasn't sure whether it is appropriate for and/or whether it would be enjoyable for her. Do I understand correctly that it is the same price for adultS and children?

I am going next month so no personal experience but many on here have brought children who very much enjoyed it. The dance floor seems to be a hit. The villains won't break character for children but I think that is cool anyway. It is the same price for everyone. I heard the dancing in the show is slightly risqué but not really inappropriate. I am taking my 12 year old. Probably would have at 8 but wouldn't have wanted to spend that much for younger than that personally.

I think it's hard to say as everyone has a different idea of "appropriate". I personally don't feel it's inappropriate for kids, but it certainly isn't geared towards children. DH and I attended the first one when the price was $99; it was the same price then for children and is still the same price for them now at $129. Really the only thing I could see some people possibly finding questionable is the dancing, and as HopperFan said you can check that out on YouTube. There is also alcohol included so while some may stick to water and soda, others may have a number of drinks so if you don't like that you won't be able to keep your kids away from it. There were a handful of kids under say, 12 when we attended. According to all reports/reviews I've read of other nights, there are always some younger children there who enjoy dancing and have had good experiences meeting the villains, but there never seems to be an abundance of children in attendance.

We went to the early show this week, and thre were quite a few children there. They spent most of the time on the dance floor, and the dancers spent a while dancing with them. The dancers were nightclub-ish type dancers, but nothing I would find inappropriate. For me, it would come down to whether or not I'd want to spend the money taking them.

Based on the videos and theming we could see - we bought tickets for 4/16 for our family including my almost 6 yo DD! It's not an issue for our family.

Same here - we watched a couple of videos and didn't see anything we thought was inappropriate, so we'll be taking DD6 (almost 7) next month.

Thank you so much everyone. I will definitely watch some videos. I wasn't sure because several dining reservation CMs told me it wasn't really an event for children and they kept emphasizing this was further evidenced by the fact that there was no child pricing. But we know how they always get things correct -- hmmmm, ROL dining packages!?!?

It is not really an event for children, but it is fine for them.
We were warned at the beginning that it is a dance club atmosphere.
I've been twice now.....first one in Jan. (at the $99) had a lot more children than the one last week at the $129 price.
The kids mostly danced.
The villains are great. 2 serious one and 2 fun ones.

It's true that it's not geared for Children and it's not a good value for children - but I don't expect any issue having them there. Infact - since they pay full price and can't drink alcohol, I'm surprised they are not encouraging it!!

DD6 and I are going during our girls' trip next week. She loves the villains every since seeing Descendants. I think she will enjoy the dancing too. I also watched the videos first and don't feel it exceeds anything she has already seen.

Ditto. My DD will be 6 on the trip and she LOVES Descendants. She just got her Mal and Evie costumes. We saw Cruella during MNSSHP this year and she really enjoyed it. I think she would flip to see Malificent and the Evil Queen.

Do the characters take pictures with you? How do they turn out with the low lighting? How about autographs?

Who are the 2 serious ones and who are the 2 fun ones? I can guess but wish to confirm. Thank you!!!!

But the CMs were correct. On a Disney scale - this is an adult event.
It's not designed or priced for kids.
They should tell guests that so there are no surprises, no complaining from the guest expecting a character meal.

- Pricing for adults but not kids is to discourage.
- You arrive to champagne "cocktail time."
- Room itself is very dark with night club type lighting and style.
- Show has dancers with more skin showing than most Disney entertainers.
- Show dancing has a suggestive vibe to it, nothing big deal to me, but to others could be issue.
- Dark Dr. Facilier vibe; skulls, smoke, voodoo style faces on big screens.
- FLOWING bar. Not just specialty drinks like at dessert parties; good specialty drinks, wine, beer.
- NOLA style buffet with no children's buffet.
- Characters great and stay in character. Queen & Maleficent are standoffish to kids.

We loved the atmosphere and Disney offering something with a more adult feel to it. Would be perfectly happy if it were adults only, but as long as they don't "dumb it down" I'm fine with some kids. Most reports seem to be the number of kids very low.

These are my feelings exactly. I'm so impressed and excited by the reviews I've seen of club villain, and part of what makes this event so different is the "adult" (at least for Disney) feel. A couple of kids won't ruin that, but I hope Disney doesn't take a few kids as a sign that the show should be sanitized.

at least not until after April 23rd! :rotfl:

No, never!!!!

I think the two "Unleash the Villains" helped open their eyes to the adults love for Villains and willingness to spend the money. They found out they aren't good at those size parties at DHS so they need to tap it another way. Hopefully this is just the beginning of MORE VILLAINS and MORE ADULT slanted entertainment. I would love it if at some point the Villains switch up for repeat guests.

I hope never too! I'm just having a cynical morning (looking at you, ROL bookings!)

I watched several videos and read about it here on the boards. I showed my DD4 (will be 5 on our trip) the videos as well. She asked if we could go and when I asked if she would rather do CV or CRT she said CV lol. She loves the villains and the bad guys and prefers them to princesses any day. Don't get me wrong, she likes Frozen as well, but she's excited about CV. We're going May 28th for the early seating so I can report back then. There will be five of us, DH, DD5, and twins who are two. I don't foresee any issues. My girls will love to dance and I don't expect my littlest ones to go near the characters. We also are not going to hesitate to take them out if issues occur, I'm not one of those who will stay somewhere with screaming children. We know what it is going in to it and we're prepared. I think as long as you understand it's not geared towards kids, no chicken nugget and mac and cheese buffet, you will be fine.

Yep same price. No different price for children. and that is the same method they use with the Food and Wine Festival special events, which have very few children attending.

(At the Food and Wine, they even charge admission for children under 3 - not sure if the same is true for Club Villain.)

Maybe the CMs tell guests that it is adult oriented to keep guests from taking the kiddies and then coming back and complaining that the event is adult oriented and nobody told them.

I don't think Disney will allow anything beyond PG-13 but it remains the case that this event is not geared for or marketed to young children.
