Have any of your kids gotten into this? It's similar to Webkinz- but no initial fee. Of course, to do certain games and stuff you have to be a member ($4.95 per month). I checked it out and it seems very safe- kids can only choose from a selected list of phrases to "chat" with, have to play games to earn coins to buy stuff to "decorate" their igloos with.....
Mine have been on so much I hardly got to Dis today!

My dd got into club penguin. It lasted about a month before she got bored. I bought the one month subscription and it was really easy to cancel, no questions asked. There are a limited amount of games. Now she has discovered the webkinz and cant get enough of them. P.S. i had to pay 5.95 a month.

I was very happy with the rules, and safety measures of the Club Penquin site, which is probably why the kids seem bored by it so quickly. But I wouldn't hesitate to sign my child up for it again.

My daughter just got into this over the past few weeks. She seems to like Club Penguins more then Webkinz at this point. Her ten Webkinz are just sitting around and she hasn't been on the Webkinz site for a while. I haven't paid any fee yet for Club Penguins. Who knows, she may get bored with it and return to Webkinz. But for now, her and most of her 5th grade friends are crazy about the Penguins.

Both of my kids have a paid subscription and have been playing it for months and months and are not bored. To each his own I guess. Club Penguin is a nice clean Canadian game though!

My almost 13 year old loves club penguin and has gotten my 9 year old interested in it also. Seems safe enough. They are limited on what they can do on the internet.

DD 10 just signed up (free bit) tonight after talking to a school friend. I wasn't quite sure but after reading this thread you've reassured me.

I play club penguin and my 5 yo sis always asks "Can I go to the penguins?"

Club Penguin is very popular around here, with a variety of age groups. DS is in 2nd grade, but the neighbor's children are in middle school and use it too.

Can you tell me more about this? I think my kids would like it - did you get an offer to sign up for it? Is it games?

Thanks!

I thought I would just add another site that my DD's love which is stardoll (dot UK for us) you can dress up lots of different famous people in different outfits. They love it.

My daughter loves Club Penguin. Her and her friends " talk " to each other and also are on the phone at the same time. It's like a major deal to them what they're planning to do next.:cool2:

you now have me loveing this website!(i am 11)i am on there gulp...more then the dis:scared1:

My DD's love Club Penguin and even daddy and I have gotten addicted at times to it. Fun games, we got the monthly membership so the kids could dress their penguins and decorate their igloos. I love how it changes based on the holiday or season. Quite cute really - at halloween all of the penguins were walking around in differnet costumes they had bought. No worries about safety - I have seen inapproriate comments made by some penguins (you can actually type a message or chosse from default ones) but it teaches other penguins to report them and their membership gets pulled so you don't see it often!
