Club Level vs OKW

We've been staying club level pretty exclusively the past couple years (6 trips: Poly TPV, BWI, Yacht, Beach, GF coming up). Bc of our party makeup, we now need either two rooms or a 2 bedroom, so we booked a 2 bedroom at OKW for November. We've been past OKW but never even seen it up close. How is the resort compared to Poly/BWI/BC/YC - dining, location (convenience to parks), overall feel,...? What about the actual 2 bedroom?

OKW does not offer the convenience to the parks the way Poly, BWI, YC/BC and GF do. If you are used to having that convenience, you may want to consider looking into a 2-bedroom at BWV, BCV, VGF or BLT. Even CCV and BRV would be more convenient to MK. Personally, I would pick the resort that would offer you the most convenience for your trip, based on which parks you will visit most, and go from there. We love the 2-bedrooms at the deluxe villa resorts, but I wouldn't book OKW simply because I want to be closer to the parks, have access to more restaurants, etc.

The 2br at OKW is huge. That’s probably the best thing about staying there. Getting food can be inconvenient depending on which building you are in so I’d recommend ordering groceries.

Transportation at OKW is mediocre at best. We use Minni Vans when we stay there. The MV will pick up/drop off right outside your building which is nice.

You'll have a full kitchen and full sized washer and dryer in your two bedroom villa at OKW. You won't have any free food or beverages. If you decide to purchase the refillable mug, the only places to get refills are Goods to Go (the small counter service by the main pool) or the Turtle Shack at the Turtle Pond pool and that is open seasonally. OKW is large, but you can hop any bus from your area to get to the Hospitality House. Then you can either wait for an Internal bus or walk over to the Peninsular Road bus stop to get back to your area. Olivia's is a pretty decent table service restaurant. Most of the buildings do not have elevators, so you may be walking up and down stairs to and from your villa. The buses have always been very good for us and we have stayed at OKW at twenty four times so far. Epcot is the closest, so once you leave the resort you are about five or ten minutes from Epcot. MK takes about eight to ten minutes.

The two bedroom villa, if dedicated, will have two queen beds in the second bedroom, one king bed in the master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa and twin sleeper chair in the living room. You'll have the same beds in a lockoff, but you'll have a balcony off the second bedroom with the lockoff. With a dedicated, where the door to the room would have been with a lockoff, you'll have a large closet. No kitchenette in the dedicated, just in the lockoff.

Our usual is to have drinks/snacks in the CL lounge, and we get the DDP. (The first time we used the DDP a few years ago, the kids were young enough that after I totaled everything up, we "saved" >$300 using it over paying OOP. Now that the kids are getting a little older, it's prob not saving us money, but DH likes the "all inclusive" feel of using it.) The washer and dryer will be very appreciated, as will the separate bedrooms. The kitchen would be nice but not totally necessary since we get the DDP and don't spend much time at the resort.

We usually do trips bet 7-10 nights (fewest was 4, most was 19), and have only once done a "no park/resort day" (4th of July at the Poly). We also don't go back to the room for naps/to rest.

We're taking grandparents with us for spring break, and have BWI CL booked for everyone, and the DDP. (Grandparents will prob be happy hanging out at the resort most of the time, maybe joining us at the parks for a few hours and to eat.) For the spring break trip, we definitely want the convenient location so that gma and gpa can easily walk or boat back to the hotel.

I am a little worried about things being crazy in the parks in November. Hopefully (for us) the real SW diehards will have moved their trips up to be there for the opening of SW:GE. I could potentially see us hanging out more at the resort if the parks are insane. (We'd LOVE to see SW:GE at wdw ASAP, but we're going to DLR in August. I don't need to get trampled and wait in several hour lines to since we'll have seen it in DLR and will be back again in the spring.)
