Just making certain, is there anyone at club level that can't accept a tip? I am assuming tipping mousekeeping is acceptable??? Thanks in advance - so excited for our first CL trip

From what I understand, CL/lounge CMs are not allowed to accept cash tips, but they can accept other gifts like candy, gift baskets, etc. Cash tips for mousekeeping is ok :).

So does anyone know a CL CM who wouldn't mind sharing some good tips they've received? We're booked CL next week and I thought cash was appropriate! Meep!

Cash is not appropriate, but perhaps a gift basket of items representing your local area?

One good way to "tip" is to clean up after yourselves in the lounge, instead of making the CL staff do it. They really appreciate that. Some guests think the staff are their personal butlers.

We have stayed Club level, mostly at YC but also at BWI, BC, CR & GF RPC, probably at least 25 times. I have never tipped anyone except housekeeping. Nor have I seen anyone else offer a tip. I don't think tipping CMs is the norm at all. I have read about people bringing food items from their home area as a thank you gift but have never done that either.

Disney club level is not like concierge at other places. The CMs don't expect tips for extra "favors" they do for you. The club level CMs pretty much do the same thing as the lobby CMs do: check in & out, make & cancel ADRs etc. I make changes to adrs myself so don't have much need for their assistance. There are CMs who stock the food service & clear the tables. But again, I have never seen anyone even try to leave a tip with them. I think most people just consider this as part of what they get for the extra money club level costs.

If I have a particularly impressive CM, I make sure to note their name & mention them in the survey I get after we get home.

FYI: at YC, there is no where to leave dirty plates, etc yourself. The staff has to clear the tables. It isn't that I think they are my personal butlers, it is the way the lounge is set up. Years ago they had a table for you to leave dirty plates & we always cleared our plates then. They removed that table years ago & now, you have to leave your dirty things on your table. There is no way for you to clean up after yourself, other than making sure you haven't made a huge mess on the table & surrounding area. They also seemed to have added a few more cast members to take care of things. Years ago there were usually only 2 CMs on at a time. Last week there were usually 3 or 4 CMs in the lounge at all times.

Sorry for the dummy check, but how do I tip bell services? Leave it when I leave my luggage at the front desk?

You can leave CL dishes on the table and still be clean. Guests can eat their takeout pizza on the couch and throw their box out; pick their trash and food up off the floor; tidy after their kids; etc. Gratitude comes in many forms. This was just one (out of several lounge etiquette examples) that came to mind due to situations we've encountered. Don't be a burden.

Luckily I have never seen folks make that kind of mess when I have been there. But I certainly agree with not leaving the place a mess like that. And if they would provide a place for guests to leave dirty plates, etc, I would be more than happy to clear my own table too. I am the type to pile our dishes & silverware & wipe the crumbs with a napkin as we leave.

Well, the guy in the bathrobe putting everything on a tray won't leave a mess. He'll just be the mess.

No! Surely not!

...there is a dress code, isn't there? I mean, not suit & tie, but shirt and shoes at least?
I take it you haven't spent much time in the concierge lounge. There is always one guy or gal who shows up in bathrobes or pjs.

The welcome letter we recieved last week at YC specified no robes. First tie we ever saw that so we noticed it right away.

Doesn't say anything about pjs tho!

We've always seen someone with their pjs on in the morning. It's not your kitchen/living room. It's lounge for the public (small public, but still public) so I don't get why they feel it's ok to walk around on pjs.

This week's vacation is my first time staying club level. I had no idea people treated it like their living room. I figured you treat it like a restaurant, as you & your family aren't the only people using the lounge space.
