Hello Friends ,

Looking to pop the "BIG Question" in May of this year , but I've been going back and fort on which room type i should stay in Over @ the Grand . . .

1) Things to know it's just us 2 staying in the room .
2) We are DIS AP Holders.
3) I Requested a KING bed.

Any room Recommendations ?

I've seen a few things from my google search saying lower floor has sound issues . ( Noise Complaints)

Should i just stick to a Theme Park View ?

Am i able to get best of both a Sugar Loaf room with Views of the Castle ?

-Thank you -

I'm not sure if you can get a theme park view at Sugar loaf- I would think so if you can book that category but there are actually "honeymoon" rooms with queen beds that are club level in the main building. They are called "main building deluxe king rooms" online and most have a view of the castle I think. I googled a video and found this for a room tour:
With this category, you can also get a turret room but it doesn't have a balcony and might not have a view of the castle but they have lots of windows. Sounds like it will be magical either way!

Sorry, you can't get TPV in SL CL. TPV is available in the main building CL (Royal Palm Club). There are King rooms available that are called honeymoon rooms. Many of these are located on the second floor above Gasparilla's grill and do have lovely views of the castle, looking over the marina. If the budget allows, one of these might not be perfect, but it would be close. You would need to request one of the TPV rooms as some rooms in this category are located elsewhere - but they are large and also very nice, as PP said, located in the turrets.

Yes, this! In fact, I think the room in the video is the one we stayed in a few years ago. It's lovely, you are guaranteed a king bed, but you do need to request theme park view and it's not guaranteed. You may want to note on your reservation that you will be proposing and/or, if you do stay Club Level, call Signature Services with your room request and to let them know about the proposal. They will do their best to accommodate you. If TPV is something you really want, then, yes, I would probably book a TPV room and then request a king (again, no guarantee).

Sugar Loaf has some positive attributes, but a stellar view from the rooms there is not necessarily one of them. @Babsy and @DisneyWishes14 have given you excellent advice above, in my opinion.

If you are adamant about a castle view, don’t book SL and look into other bookable Theme Park View options.

Best of luck OP.

Is TPV a deal breaker? The reason I ask is that that no matter what you choose, there may be a compromise,.

Given a choice I would choose Sugar Loaf, top floor, and skip the view. There are so many lovely spots on the GF grounds to pop the question that I would make this the compromise.

Frankly I think the TPV views from the GF are the poorest of the 3 monorail resorts. The one in the main building overlooks the marina and is nice but the castle and fireworks view are from the extreme left side (almost the back. If the TPV view is crucial to the question popping I'd recommend the Polynesian and the Hawaii TPV rooms (if the GF isn't crucial).
Also, if club level isn't your usual stay you might want to start in a "normal" room at the GF so as not to tip your future fiancee off... :)

Another idea: depending on how much your girlfriend knows about Disney and depending on your budget, you could *really splurge* and book the MK view rooms in the main building. All of the main building at GF is club level. You could pretend to be surprised at check in, like you didn't know it was club level?

I also agree with syywise's suggestion that if view is the most important important, you might also consider a different resort. Contemporary is closest to the park, but the view is at an angle. CL at Poly has the best views, I think, because you're looking almost straight on at the park entrance.

So: GF main building if GF is what's most important, CL theme park view at Poly if the view is the most important.

My dd and I often request kings for more room space when we travel alone. There's a king on the first floor in SL that is adjacent to the wall where they keep the carts and stuff. It has a wall blocking most of the view.

So email or call your request, and WHY, want a marina view with a king. Your soon to be fiancé doesn't like ground floor rooms;)

FYI Also sugar loaf does not have a bookable view. The options to request are marina (slight MK view to side) or courtyard.

Hope that helps:goodvibes
