Should I book the DP with Club Level or is it just too much food? This will be my first trip with Club level as well as the DP.

Well, if your reason for booking Club is for the food in the lounge, then yes, I think that would be a lot of food. If you're paying for the DP and paying for Club level, that's also a ton of money for just food.

That really depends on a lot of factors. Some of the club levels do seem to offer a bit more food in their lounge, so where you're staying could have some bearing on your decision. The type and amount of food is hard to be considered a meal replacement plan. Breakfast is deluxe continental, which includes fruit, yogurt, bagels and cold cereal. Snacks are out from 11am to 4pm, but we're talking bowls of pretzels, M&M's, bags of popcorn. The appetizers can include sliced vegetables, cheese & crackers, then usually 2 hot items, like chicken skewers, spring rolls, soup. If you're really light eaters, you can probably put enough on your plate to fill you up, but the hours the appetizers are served are limited from 5pm - 7pm. Are you staying in a resort that would be convenient for you to get back to within that 2 hour timeframe?

Are you planning on a lot of downtime at the resort, or are you comfortable coming back for a late afternoon break, having some appetizers and then hitting the park again? It really does come down to personal touring styles, probably the ages of any kids you might have travelling with you (great snacks for teens, but no way would my son make that his meal ;) ).

I would just list out everything, like location, touring style, who you're travelling with, are there restaurants you really would like to try out..... You can go to Allearsnet.com and click on the "dining" link. You can then select the restuarants and get an idea of what you'd pay out of pocket. I think knowing all that, would help you make your decision a lot easier.

If you book CL, do not add the DDP. We will be at the YC CL in August, and will eat in the lounge since it makes a meal with what they offer.

Other than for breakfast, there really is not enough food available in the YC club level lounge to make a meal out of such food. In the evening, all that is put out is cheese, crackers, dips, soup and an appetizer. It is not intended that such food take the place of dinner.

We are skipping the DP. We will eat breakfast in the lounge, buffet in the park and snacks during the day. We always go back to the resort in the afternoon for naps and swimming. I think this will work great.

We stay CL every time we go to Disney and have never and will not "pay" for the DDP. We have been during free dining (and going again this Sept.) and we always have credits left over!!

Have a great trip!!

Ok maybe I will be one of the few to say I liked doing club level and being on the DDP. My family (Me 37, DH 41, DD10, DD7) just returned from WL and we did both. I honestly thought it would be way too much food but it actually worked out great. We were there 5 nights

We would eat breakfast in the lounge (everyday but one day)

We used 2 TS credits for the castle on one day and the other TS credits we used at sit down restaurants. We used our TS credits at lunch time, we usually used the quick service later on in the parks

The only thing we had left on our last day were snack credits so we used them in roaring forks (we drove so we took the snacks for the drive home lol)

Now I have two big eaters in my family (they are the skinniest too lol :confused3 ) so for them they were in heaven

I know it can be expensive, but for me this was a huge trip ( gift to myself ;) )and I felt it was very worth it and the DDP was so easy to use

I don't really think there's a right or wrong answer here. Everyone has different eating styles. I know families that have a large, later lunch and will eat a very light dinner. Sometimes being on vacation will change eating habits completely, with people snacking on lighter meals throughout the day. Looking at supersmartguys signature, it appears that he's stayed at the BC club level, so he's probably already aware of what types of food will be available.

It's good to have all the information out there though and then the individual can apply it to their own family.

We wouldn't do the DDP and stay club-level, because for us it's way too much food. We'd be paying alot extra for club food we wouldn't have room for!

The club breakfast is enough for us. Then we either snack during the day and go out for dinner, or have a big sit-down lunch and then just have a bit of club-lounge snacks for dinner, since we're not all that hungry. If we do get hungry later at the parks, we'll grab a snack there (schoolbread in Norway is a great one!).

But if you really want more food, then the DDP might be the way to go.

We do both, we have a large party though and we like the option of eating either at the lounge or at the parks. We are also using 2 table services for Cinderella's royal table. Our teens are going to need to eat more than the offerings in the lounge. Every family is different.

We enjoy staying at club level eating a small breakfast & then off to the parks etc, We get the DDP as well. Then come back & if hungry grab a bite or wait until desserts are out :goodvibes

We've only stayed club level at AKL so I'm not familiar with what's offered in the other resorts CL level lounges. While a continental breakfast and little snacks and a small selection of hot foods in the evening are nice to have I really can't see making a meal out of the CL lounge offerings every night, esp. if you have a longer stay planned. It's not always convenient to return to the lounge, there might not be offerings that everyone likes, and it's not intended to substitute as a meal for an entire family. That said if you're light eaters and plan to relax a lot at the resort then often just taking "one" of everything set out in the lounge is very filling. It's not "too much food" though to have the DDP also and gives you more flexibility. It really depends on your budget and touring style- factors that are personal to each family's decision.---Kathy

If the reason for staying on the concierge floor is for food then i wouldnt suggest taking the dining package since it will be an extra you don't need and whichever resort concierge you choose, the food selection will be plentiful. If you are going to the concierge for the VIP check in line and to speed up the process of checking in then I would suggest adding on the dining plan. Also the concierge sells tickets to the theme parks and the entertainment section of Disney. They also can arrange transportation to/from the resort. Whatever you choose have a safe trip and a great time.

 This is great information - My DD and I are staying on the Atrium Club Level at CR in August - Can't wait!!

I would do Club Level without the DDP because if you are planning a lot of ADR's, when would you have time to take advantage of the foods during breakfast and the hors d'oeuvres at 5:00 PM?

Not everyone books the club level for the food in the lounge. It's a nice amenity, but there are plenty of guests who don't plan their park hopping around getting back for appetizers or desserts. For them, it may just be having the secure building or floor, a deluxe room, or utilizing some of the other services that they offer. That's why everyone just needs to educate themselves and decide what's best for their family.

This is the reason I book club level - I like the extra security of the club floor, and in the case of the GF, being in the main building. I've never taken full advantage of the food offerings, I'll have breakfast and then if (which is not all the time) I'm back at the resort late afternoon I might have something before I then go out for dinner. I'm having the deluxe dining plan for my next trip, I like to go out for a nice dinner in the evening, rather than snack on the club level food offerings.

We originally had the deluxe plan booked with our club level room at AKL but just changed to regular dining plan. My dh is still thinking about changing back. He really wants to try some many of the signature places. We have 2 adults traveling and 5 children three of which are disney adults. This is our first time in a deluxe. Dh likes the idea of having everything included so he doesn't have to worry about anything except tips. He is afraid we the kids won't have enough to eat with the regular dining plan. I think he is wrong. :)
