Club Level Jambo?

Yes, it opened on August 26th

Wait so what happened with the Club Level for DVC being closed and people being moved out of there? More information yet on that? Maybe people can take a peak at the DVC rooms to see if people are going in and out of them.

The rooms were closed off because of exterior work outside of the building and so people were moved because that would have impacted certain rooms at certain times.

I have read reports that people who had a CL room were given access to that even in a regular room. It was also reported that microwaves were seen being put in the hotel rooms for DVC guests who had to be moved.

Just stayed in CL - half of the rooms are still blocked (Savannah side) due to “grease traps and system being cleaned out” on that side of the building. I haven’t done any additional investigating to see if that is true…

I just read the above attached post ( but not all of the following links)- and I’d have to say it’s accurate-

Most of the cast members are from other resorts club levels- the Grand, Poly, and Yacht- although there are a few returning from AKL. They were brought back by seniority - so if you has 20 years in at the Grand, you were offered a position over someone who had 19 years at the AKV , for example. Some of the new staff are amazing and wonderful people ( and I’m sure they’re all lovely- I just haven’t intereacted with all of them).

Breakfast is terrific, and mostly the same as it once was. They have bobotie, oatmeal, lunch meats, bread, another Warm sweet dish ( one day it was French toast casserole, today it’s sticky buns), juices, coffee, yogurts, etc. Mimosas always had to be asked for - and although I haven’t, I’ve seen others with them.

There is no longer a “tea” or afternoon snack period, instead it’s a long period with smuckers, bagged chips, bagged “chexmix“, gold fish crackers, hard candies (like jolly ranchers). During this period you can request sangria, wine, beer, etc….. that has always been the case.

Dinner is most the same- but slightly less selection. There is the bowl of crackers, charcuterie, hummus’s, olives, asparagus, tomatoes, carrots, cuke slices Every night. 2 rotating cold dishes ( like a salad and couscous, or watermelon salad and curry pasta), a rotating kids selection ( quartered smuckers, or lunchmeat rolls) and some fruit). They also have to rotating, plated, hot dishe’s- and these are the same as they were before - for example, Indian tomato soup and butter chicken. All are Indian or African flavors ( because you are at AKL). They put out beer and wine during dinner.

Dessert is no-hum with the exception of Mickey bars!,,, cookies, tiny tarts ( passion fruit, coffee flavors), cupcakes in those tiny cones, a carrot cake with chocolate(?) frosting, cordials. Nothing in the desserts seemed to change.

Manners have not improved with the pandemic. They run out of wine and cordials because people fill big coffee cups with them and leave empty bottles without telling the cast members ( about the empty bottle). People allow their children to use all of the expensive cheese cubes as building blocks on the table to keep them quiet. And people STILL eat from their plate And LICK THEIR FINGERS while at the buffet. Yes, they moved their masks to do this. Ugh. ( why I always use hand sanitizer after using public tongs before I eat).

that’s enough ranting….. hope this report helps. My IPad hates some of the words - so sorry about the typos…
