We just upgraded our reservation during our split stay in November and because of our AP discount decided to stay our 2 nights at BC at club level. For those of you who have experienced this, is the upgrade worth the perks associated with the package?

depends on the number in your party and your touring/hotel style

just returned from a week at CL

4 of us in the party

we ate a continental breakfast there 5 out of 7 mornings
my dh is a big coffee drinker and early riser, so he had multiple cups of coffee before even having breakfast
we usually grabbed snacks there everyday
we probably each had 4 or 5 sodas or iced teas each day - because of this we did not purchase nor need refillable mugs
we were there for evening apps maybe 4 out of 7 evenings?
we were there to grab desserts and cordials for maybe 4 out of 7 nights - these were never really any good in our opinions
my dh and I had a few beers or glasses of wine each day
we took 4 bottles of water to the parks twice per day

So - for us it was totally worth it. Plus, it was a great escape to go into the lounge while others were busy in the room getting dressed - made it not feel so cramped in the room.

I stayed BC CL this past summer and was a a little disappointed. We have stayed CL the last 4 summers - BWI, YC and tried BC this time. Lounge and food set up was small....I think there are cut backs across the board with lounge offerings at all resorts...but tea/lemonade was hit or miss at dinner and evenings. In the past we LOVED CL and couldn't imagine staying the summer months without it. In 2013, we are going to skip it and stay at Beach Club but not club level. REALLY liked BC as hotel, staff, location, etc - I just didn't feel the cost justified club level this past trip. I even wrote disney about it with some suggestions, etc.

we just stayed at the the BC club level. loved it first time we stayed in the club level. a lot of people say it is not worth it but for us it was special. just nice private floor, club lounge small not a lot of different food offer but still nice.
Would do it again. They even got us soy milk.

I think it depends on what you are looking for ... the rooms are not different from the other rooms at the BC. The private lounge does allow you to "extend you room" in that if you want to get away there is a place to go. Advantages: Continental Bfast (if you use it); drinks, water, alcohol at no cost; private lounge to hang out in; card key access limiting traffic in the hallways; dinner snacks (although not really a replacement for a meal); private check-in so no waits in lines; assistance with reservations prior to and while you are there; if you need something and ask they are very good about getting it for you (i.e. packing materials to protect something traveling home; etc.). Disadvantages: The cost. It is more. If you will not use some of the services or don't put a value on the intangibles ... then it probably isn't worth it. But, if you will use some of them .... then perhaps. It is really a very personal type of thing ... when I can upgrade ... I do. We enjoy it.

We stayed club level a couple of years ago at the BC and I was not very impressed. The lounge was small, at times, there were not available seating. I didn't think there was a lot of food variety especially evening appetizers beween 5 and 7 p.m. or dessert/cordials. It actually appeared very sparse.

We stayed club level at the Boardwalk Inn last year and I really enjoyed it. The lounge was more comfortable, usually not too crowded. The evening appetizers and dessert/cordial presentations were really nice. I think they get some of the food from the Boardwalk Bakery. There was much more variety regarding the food. The CM's in the lounge at BWI were very friendly and helpful.

Club level is always a nice treat but if you plan on spending a lot of time in the parks, IMO, it is not worth the cost because you are not there to enjoy it. When we travel to Disney now, we spend more time at the resort, therefore club level is more worthwhile.

Thanks all - some really good points / opinions.

Our first leg , has us in the 'world' for 5 days prior , and I consider these our last 2 days of leisure at BC. We'll be staying close to the hotel , hoping to enjoy the pool with our toddler , and thought Club Level , might be a nice treat , since we'll be very much Beach Club bound. After 5 days of parks , with a toddler , thinking being close to the hotel , and Club Level , will be nice before we have to face the reality of home / work : )

We treated our DD & SIL with their two children ages 4 & 10 months to CL for one of our trips a couple of years ago. They both loved it as breakfast was taken care of and snacks for both children and adults were available. The CM's in CL really try to make each guest feel special and really go out of their way. Soy milk was there for my SIL, they noticed my DGD really loved strawberries and they brought a small plate of them to the table for her each morning.

Having water, milk, juice, and adult beverages available is a big perk for the whole family. The IPO is wonderful for making all your ADR, and in my experience they have been more then will to make them for your entire stay even if you are doing a split stay with a standard room at a different Disney resort.

As you can see by my signiture we have stayed both standard rooms and CL several times. Love it when a discount and value season allows us to book CL. We are staying at Beach Club CL for the first time next month.
I think CL at Beach Club will be a nice way to relax and spoil yourselves a little.
