We are staying at AKL, club level for the first time ever. I think someone comes in daily to turn down our bed. Should we tip daily and if so, how much? We are staying in a studio, 2 adults and 1 teen. :dance3:

You get full mousekeeping, including turn down service. I would tip whatever you normally would for housekeeping in a hotel stay.

I agree. We left a tip also because we knew that the sofa bed would need to be made up.

As a rule I don't see mousekeeping as a tipped position but I think for concierge with daily service, the line is crossed and tipping should be routine.

Even when you are paying more for the room with daily service?

Yes, as I noted, but I could see the other side of the argument, esp from those like me who don't see tipping for timeshare services as routine.

I look at it as paying more for the offerings. The first night we had turndown service, I was thrilled to have the sofa and chair beds made up. It was well worth a few bucks to not have to do that myself.

Thanks for everyones input. I did not realize that we would be receiving full mousekeeping. I think I will stick to our daily tipping routine considering the full service even though I know you don't have to. Wow, I think I am going to really like this, maybe too much, become spoiled; then what !

We've had one concierge stay for just 2 or 3 nights at didn't do a lot otherwise. We did the special safari and just hung out otherwise. In many ways we were lounge rates I suppose.

Our first CL stay was early on in Jambo's AKV days, and they never once made up our room the whole time. I didn't even realize we were supposed to have mousekeeping until our next trip when I was surprised to get it each day. Come to think of it, we never got our turn down service that first CL trip either. I guess our mousekeeper was shirking her duties.

We had the opposite problem a few weeks ago. I specifically didn't want full housekeeping as we were only there 2 nights. We were in the room all morning on our 2nd day, and I had the "do not disturb" sign up until around 2PM. Made the bed myself and tidied up - even called housekeeping before leaving for a few hours and told them there was no need to make up the room, but said we would love turn-down service. Put a few bucks on the bed and we left. Came back before dinner - not only was the turn-down done, but the room was completely cleaned, complete with new sheets on all the beds and new towels. It was very nice but not at all necessary and kind of a waste (I sure don't need new sheets and towels over a 2 night stay.) And I felt horrible about leaving only a few $$ - but then again, I did tell them I didn't need full cleaning.

We are a small family of 3 and we are staying for 6 nights. We are not very messy people so daily cleaning is not really necessary nor are clean sheets and towels on a daily basis. But I guess I will just let mousekeeping do what they do.

As for your situation, like you said, you did call to let them, so I would not feel horrible. :dance3:
