I believe I read somewhere that if you child participates in some "special activities" they receive a special prize at the end of the week. How do I find out now which activites are required, so that we can plan? Also, how many do they need? What is usually the prize?

Barb & Dave have the kids navigators posted on their sites. Ive read that to get the prize (bucket hat for the Lab) the kids need to attend 1 main event per day. The main events are marked w/the Mickey ears. Take a look at the navigators.
Meet you soon.

Yep, that's the prize! We had 2 hats (one for each child) delivered to our stateroom on Friday.....

Or is it a cumulation of events? (ie: need to do six main events but could do tow or three one day and none another.)

You have to do one scheduled activity marked with a Mickey each day to receive the prize at the end. Each day has 2 scheduled events except for I believe one day, St. Thomas I believe, when they scheduled 3 events. They are in the morning or in the evening and they are alot of fun so it isn't hard to get to at least one a day. My DD in 5-7 group received a lunch bag with a water bottle and the boys in 10-12 received a blue/red Oceanears Gilligan type hat. They were determined not to miss any Mickeys.

We were told that as long as your child was checked in at sometime during the event they it would count for that day. A computer printout is generated on the last day which determines if the child is eligible to receive the prize which is delivered to your stateroom.

My 11 year old was having too much fun to go to all the activities but if
you send your kid to the disney kids show on the last day they will get a
t-shirt. Don't drag them to the club just to get hat, its their vacation to gang.

We printed out the navigators for my DS4 and my DD5.5 year olds, and they started highlighting everything (especially the "mickey ears" - my daughter put a star beside them). My kids can be hesitant to go into activities like these, but love them once they are there and it would be so sad if they didn't at least try it out. So, I am trying to get them pumped about going to the kids club, and if it doesn't work... it doesn't work! I am just happy that right now they are so excited about all the experiments, dancing, singing and crafts that they will be able to do. And... I have to admit... DH and I are also happy!!!!

I looked at the navigators on Barb's site and didn't see any mickey ears on the 5-7 age group. Am I missing something that is right in front of me? I am 39......:D

Barbs seems to be missing them. Plus, Dave's are more current. His are from April 22, 2002. Don't worry... you aren't losing it! haha

Target, look to the right of the activities listed for each day and you'll see the Mickey icons. On Barb's Navigator's on Key West day look for "To Infinity & Beyond" and you'll see the first icon. :)

But, they are not on the Eastern Navigators. Just the Western. I already e-mailed Barb and told her that I would get updated Navigators for her after our November 30th cruise.
