Club Intrawest???

Personally haven't but a friend of mine traded in and booked at week at Kidani with her Intrawest Points about 2-3 months ago for a September trip.

Has anyone traded through Club Intrawest? What was your experience?popcorn::

We have traded into CI's resort at Sandestin in Florida and it was great!

The process was easy, but you may need to be a bit flexible with your dates.

For less than a week's stay, you can book at 4 months and I think you can book at 7 months for a full week.

The points chart is similar to BCV.

Also, the process is a bit more straight forward than trades into RCI. You have a good idea up front if your dates are available, they just need to follow up with you to verify.

I am in the procees of trading into the Club Intrawest in Zihuatanejo, Mexico for a 1 bedroom for 7 days in February.
The resort looks beautiful and the info I received on their meal plan seems terrific!
So far the process has been painless. Will post a review of the resort when we return.

Not an all inclusive but they use a credit system. I was told that 50-60 points for a weeks should be good for 3 meals a day for a week.
If it is purchased ahead of time thru Club Intrawest it was around $300

So around $5-6 a DVC point for the meal plan?

I've traded into CI at Sandestion FL and the resort was great along with the beach and Baytowne Warf. Very easy process

No.. sorry.. Not DVC points. My mistake, I should have said meal plan credits!
Breakfast and lunch are 2 credits each and a full dinner (app. entree and desert) or buffet = 6 credits.
If you price it out it comes to about $5 a credit with the meal plan per person. If you had to buy it without it would be around $75 per person rather than $30. Big savings!
Sorry for the confusion

I just did some searching around for the meal plan. It looks like there is a 3, 5 & 7 day plan though one thing I saw hinted the 3 day plan may have vanished. The beauty of many optional meal plans is they can often be bought for a reduced number of meals and then stretched over the entire week. That also reduces or removes one of the problems of AI plans for us, that is the loss of the ability to explore other options. It also looked like they may have arranged for a couple of local restaurants to accept the plan as well, another plus if still in effect. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Thanks. What looked at first to be an easy process has turned otherwise. I was told that I couldnt get a 1 BR for all 7 nights I requested but asked if i was willing to take a two BR for a few nights. I agreed and I was told by MS that once they received the confirmation they would charge the $95 and call me back by days end. I waited 3 days and since this was going to be a Christmas gift I called back Christmas Eve and was told by MS that the resort was completley sold out for that week! I understand that it wasnt confirmed but why did it take 3 days and I had to call them to find out! After speaking with a supervisor at MS , they inferrred that someone dropped the ball and didnt put the revised request thru right away and the window closed!
They are now looking for availablility for another week. Lets see how this turns out!
Just starting to wonder if they are getting too big. Been a member since 1997 and have seen a big change in MS since they first started. Or maybe I was just spoiled!

It sounds like you would have been changing rooms and possibly looking at extra $95 fees plus possibly housekeeping fees. MX is easy to get, I didn't want to rain on your parade since you were set but since this has fallen through, you may want to investigate other options privately, for cash as a package or through some of the independent exchange companies. You'll likely fare better and cheaper doing so.

I put in a request yesterday for Intrawest Whistler (through Buena Vista trading) for the first week in May. It was easy and I was told upfront by member services that the family pool would be closed for refurbishment. I needed a studio and a one bedroom. None of the studios were available, but I was able to put in a request for the one bedroom. I was told it would be 3 to 5 days before it was confirmed and that even though their system showed availability, there was no guarantee. I just heard back from member services that I did in fact get the 1 bedroom. :cool1: Early May is definitely the off season in Whistler, so I was actually suprised I could not also get a studio. But that is OK, it was for my BIL and he has decided to just book a room somewhere in the village. I used 24 points and paid the $95. A comparable room was going to cost me about $325 (3 nights) + $65 for parking, so I think I did alright.

Member Services came thru and were able to get us in for 7 days starting March 6. Cant wait! Based on all the reviews i have read about this resort. It sounds wonderful and will take full advantage of the meal plan!

Can you rent at ci sandestin for less than 7 nights? How far is the beach? Is it walkable? Thanks!

I usually drive to Sandestin but I have see Enterprise near by.

The beach is about 1 mile from the resort. It does have a shuttle and bike paths to the beach.

It would be a 15-20 walk.

The resort gives you two bikes for 4 hours each day

You can rent for less than 7 nights but you can only reserve 4 months out for a reservation less than 6 nights

Destin/Sandestin has BEAUTIFUL beaches!!

I'm not sure if it can be 7 nights exactly though I'm thinking this restriction no longer exists. You can reserve 6 or more nights 7 months out, 5 or less only a 4 months out.

He'll like Whistler ((I hope!)) It's a short walk to the village, the Squamish Cultural Centre is right across the street and the slopes are right there, it's a short walk to the lifts and Lost Lake trails. I assume they'll have a car... send me a private message if you want some local tips on places to eat, etc :thumbsup2
