Why is it named Club 33?

I believe it's just because of its location. Its address is "33 Royal Street, New Orleans Square, Disneyland".

In order to attain a liquer licence, the establishment must have a physical address, hence the address.

It is located at 33 Royal Street, but after speaking with the bartender at Club 33, the name is for the 33 of the parks original 47 sponsors that opted for a private club in New Orleans Square when they were polled. The address of 33 Royal Street was not given to the building until after the name had been decided.

The liquor license in a myth though. The Disneyland Resort has all of its liquor and business licenses listed at Disneyland's general delivery address on West Street.

Gee, I always thought that it had to with the number of original members....33. Anyone ever heard this? We used to go there frequently growing up, and somewhere along the line were told this.
