The wife and I just got back from Club 33 at DL. One word....WOW! We were invited through some business friends and we had a great time! We went for the Sunday champagne brunch which is served buffet style. The food was beyond good....it was fantastic! I could eat like that everyday. There was lamb and madera wine sauce, tri-tip and mushroom sauce, curry chicken, shrimp scampi, chicken alfredo, coucous (sp?), sauteed mushrooms, scalloped potatoes (yum!!!!) artichoke hearts with crap stuffing, avocado halves with tuna stuffing, jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce, crab legs (pre-cracked), salad, chicken salad, butterscotch carrots (they tasted like butterscotch!), a "make it the way you want it" pasta bar, and a dessert table that almost stopped my heart! Cheesecakes, mousses, cakes, torts, petite fours, chocolate dipped marshmellows, pies and cookies. My wife had the champagne and I had the tropical fruit punch. Wow. Simply wow. We can't wait to go back for dinner there someday. I'm told that will REALLY blow us away! Oh yeah, Mickey and Pluto came by and took pictures with us. They must have been with us for ten minutes. We couldn't eat! It was great though and we got some really neat pictures.

That trip to Club 33 will be something that my wife and I will always treasure. It is everything you've heard and MUCH MORE. I have actually been there a couple of times before but when I was younger and not as "appreciative" but now that I'm older, and maybe because ole DL has been missing a little of the magic for us lately, it was nice to be blown away again! I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Roy :-)

Welcome to the club of those who have been to Club 33 as adults, Roy! :) It is a magical experience, isn't it? Glad you enjoyed it!

The one and only time I have gone to Club 33 was an amazing experience. My connection who got me in has said that she would like to go again soon - I am just waiting patiently...what a fabulous place!!

We went to Club 33 last night (8/18) for our 18th anniversary. It was a wonderful experience as always. Our son saw most of Fantasmic from the balcony (returning to his chicken tenders occasionally!) I bought one pin to keep and one to trade on our October cruise.

Could you describe the interior?

We found the door and DS just about broke his neck trying to see up in the windows. I can't imagine any of us Texans ever figuring out a way to be invited. :(

You call in on a little brass intercom outside. They buzz you in and then you enter a little foyer where a CM sits and calls upstairs to let them know that you're there. You ride up in a fancy brass elevator (originally from a movie or something) and then you're met by a CM who takes you to your table. The inside is ornate but warm. It's French Provincial meets Early American. It continues the New Orleans theme from downstairs.

We were led into a dining room to our table by the window. We sat next to some soap opera guy, but neither my wife or I watch them so it wasn't too big of a deal to us. Again, the food was delicious and the service is the best. We were comped for brunch, so I'm not even to sure how much it cost but I'm sure that it ain't cheap!

I really hope that we get a chance to go again, maybe this time for dinner. I would pull whatever strings possible to get in at least once. Ask everyone you know if they have a connection...you never know who might be able to get you in. I'll end with this...if you ever have a chance to go, you absolutely must find a way to get there!

We plan to be at DL next March for our 33rd anniversary and have our fingers crossed that we might be able to work our way into Club 33. Anyone have any tips to share?

Pat, I believe the only way to get in is to know a member who will get you in. I wish I knew someone!

I'm not sure what it is now but it was $11,000 to join and $7,500 a year membership dues when my dad inquired a few years back. Also, at that time there was about a 5 year waiting list just to be allowed to have your application reviewed. I have heard that they now have some sort of "associate" membership that isn't as expensive and doesn't take as long to get but I may be wrong about that.
Remember too, not only do you have to pay all of these dues and wait all of that time, but you also have to PAY for all of your drinks and meals and IT AIN'T CHEAP!! (and you AP doesn't get you a discount!) Maybe someone knows a website or something with more info about current membership.
