Does anyone know of anyone that is a member of this at Disneyland. Is there anything like it at WDW. No names, just wondering if you know anyone or if you have ever been in there. Just curious. That would of been a great give away for "the year of a million dreams" prize. Just to go in and look and have dinner. Someday when I win the lottery, I will join.

I've been twice. :woohoo: Once, a few years back through an event offered by Disney. It was a breakfast buffet. It was the first time I had learned of non-members being allowed to dine there.

The second time, with a friend whose mother had a corporate membership through Chevron. It was great. You not only get to dine there, but we received two complimentary admissions. One, my friend used, the other we gave away (I have an annual pass). We had an amazing dinner. We also had lunch in the corporate suite located inside Autopia. It's in the cylinder shaped column that the queue passes through (where you see comic vignettes featuring the Chevron cars). You tell them a secret code and they let you enter. It's a room with comfy chairs and couches. There's a fridge stocked with cokes, etc. And a t.v., with DVDs. Also toys for the kids. And a nice rest room. We bought our lunch and ate it inside. Oh, there's also cool art on the walls.

After dinner, we also got to watch Fantasmic from the old Disney Gallery balcony. Complimentary. We had a private balcony right next to the folks who pay extra to watch the show and have a dessert. It was great.

I've been once, just last October. I flew from Texas for the weekend JUST to do this. It was an AMAZING meal. 5 courses of FABULOUS food, GREAT wine that paired perfectly. It really was funny how many people were walking right by the door and had no idea what was on the other side. Except for the group of women waiting to get in wearing their dresses and Manolo Blahniks. They kind of gave it away.;)

Sadly, Fantasmic was down when I went, so I wasn't able to watch it from the balcony. But we could see some fireworks from "Remember, Dreams Come True."

I went once with Bank of America. My sister was a teller and her boss got her in. We were only 22 and 20 at the time and when we went to knock on the door as told someone tried to stop us. They said it was for famous people and its not open to the public. You should have saw their face when we were allowed in.
I remember them telling us a stoy how Walt used to spy on his friends when they ate at 33. It was prior to it being a restaurant since his apartment was next door. We could see the microphones in the lamps above the table. It was pretty cool and wish I could go again someday.

I went once and it was amazing. The staff is so friendly and the food is great. We sat on the balcony and watched Fantasmic. Definitely something I would splurge on if I won the lottery and lived close enough to enjoy it often.

The members who invited us said that 33 has special events for members. In one, they took a group of members to Splash Mountain and closed it down to other guests. After the ride, they flipped on the lights and had an imagineer talk about the ride, then all had dinner back at the club where they were given a gift-- a really nice Splash Mountain frame with a pic of them on the ride that night.

Where the Club seems to excel, IMHO, is at being elegant and truly special without being stuffy or snobby.

I do have friends who were invited by their company who said that they did not have a good experience (food was not up to par, service was very rushed and unfriendly). All I can say is that it was probably an off night because I have never heard anything else like that at all.

Just went to Club 33 two days ago. Nothing like that in WDW.

We had a excellent time there, great food, phenomenal service. Watched both shows of F! on the balcony and the fireworks too.

I went about twelve years ago for breakfast at a Disneyana Convention for DL's 40th. That might actually be the same event Anna was referring to.... Amazing breakfast and just a wealth of history on the walls.

We saw the microphones Wendy mentioned, too. History says that the original concept of the microphones were to be used to help the staff provide better service by knowing what guests wanted or needed and also to assist with entertainment that was to be provided by audio-animatronic birds and such. The spying story - which I have also heard - is definitely a more interesting and probably realistic picture....:rotfl:

If I am not mistaken, doesn't Blue Bayou Restaurant and a sign near their door saying Club 32 (which makes senses since it is next door, but I never heard anyone make mention of it.)

Actually, the word "Club" is never seen or used. The 33 door is marked with the simple number "33". That's what makes it so easy to miss....

The address of the Blue Bayou is 31 Royal St. The address of Club 33 is 33 Royal St. It is only identified by a sign that says "33". They are next door to each other.

Well, the spying story is a fun story, but it can't be accurate in any way, fortunately. Club 33 opened 5 months after Walt's death, and the family apartment hadn't been constructed yet. He still had the apartment above the firehouse.

I'm inclined to believe that the animatronics and microphones were put there for interaction with the guests, but I think the idea was scrapped because of privacy issues.

I've seen pictures of these things, not being fortunate to have gone there myself.

Me, my wife and two children (DD 4 and DS 2 at the time) went with a friend back in 2004. It was nice and I'm glad that my friend paid for it. One of those once in a lifetime opportunities.
