We are visiting Southern CA in August. We are looking at a weeklong stay in the Laguna Beach area with a 2day/1night trip over to DLR in the middle. one of the condos I have looked at includes passes to club 33.

Have you ever been? would it be a deciding factor for you in choosing a condo/vacation rental? is it child friendly?

As far as I know it is pretty hard to get in there unless you know someone, so that is kind of a cool opportunity. I don't know how child friendly it is, I suppose it depends on how well behaved your kids are... consider it an upscale restaurant. We are probably going in March for the first time with some friends, she offered to get reservations for all 5 of us but it's pretty pricey so we aren't taking the kids.

I have never heard of that, but if it were true, that would seal the deal for me. You can't get in otherwise unless you are a member, or you know someone who is a member. I would jump on the deal if it were legit!!!!!

WOW, i would totally take that one. you do need to dress a bit nicer for it, but sounds like it is worth it. have a great trip either way.

sorry to tell you this but unless you are a member of 33 or have reservations from a friend who is a member of 33 you cannot get in. It is a private club.
The waiting list to become a member has been closed for quite a while a year or more I think. And the wait for the waiting list for approved membership is 14 years.

I just re read your post. Im a doofus! lol.
If you have the chance to go, GO!! The food is very gourmet.
but to me , even if your kids are squirmy, dont let them be
the deciding factor if you go or not.
The food is AMAZING. I had the chance to last year and it was sooooo
worth every penny. It is expensive but hey, its a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Can you tell me which condo rental you are going through to get these passes?
I would love to know.
Have a great time.

Brina, Club33 is VERY exclusive and not just anyone can eat there. It is absolutely the "know someone" scenario. If you trust the condo owners to be legit, I would consider that a GIANT extra of staying at that condo. If it trusted the renters, I would seriously give that condo an extra thought for the amazingly unique opportunity to eat at Club 33.

I was going to say something about this too, it seems a bit hinky. Since I am not sure how they would be able to set this up unless they have a corperate membership and are very trusting. If they do set up with the passes to get in my next question is how do they guarentee a reservation during your trip? The next thing is I bet they don't pay.

Club 33 gives you a free ticket to the parks (AP or passes doesn't matter you still pay as if you are using the ticket, no discounts) it is approx $86 a person for adults and I am unsure of kid's prices for a lunch seating and more for dinner. The club has a dress code lunch is not as strict but you must wear closed toed shoes.

This is a big deal location it is tough to get in, but I would want a guarentee that you will get a reservation during your trip if you book with them. I would also want all the details in writing. If its all on the up and up I would so do it!

ETA: I looked up a few condos and I see what they are doing! Clearly some one has a membership that is dealing with these rentals, they are offering you "Access to Reservations" with rental. So if they can get you a reservation under their membership they will, but you still pay and also have a chance of them being booked. I would guess these are all lunch reservations as well. You would still pay the standard price to go. I do wonder if this is allowed under their membership, the rules are a little tough on them.

Yep, if you're going to do it you better jump on it now. Someone was auctioning off dinners at Club 33 on e-bay a few years ago. They tried to get around club rules by saying all the proceeds went to charity, but those auctions still got shut down in a hurry. I can't imagine the powers that be at Club 33 would look on this any too kindly.

As for whether it's kid friendly... I'd say yes, as long as you don't mind paying for the kids to go. My kids loved it, but we've only been for lunch. I understand dinner is more formal, so it might not be as kid appropriate.

Anyone else think those condos are going to be getting a lot more lookers now that the info has been posted here? :rotfl2:
