My uncle just called and he won (at auction) entrance to Club 33 for 12 (revised) people in November! Yeah!

BUT NOW I NEED INFO RE:CLUB 33 ASAP!

But having never having been to Club 33 we don't really know how it works. He said the meals range from $72 to $100 each. :scared1:Entrance to the park is included.

He needs an answer from us today, of course!

If you go to Club 33 what do they serve? Do you have to eat a whole meal? Can we get by by paying less? If we go my DD11 would go as well but I can't swing $72 for a meal for her. Do they have kid's meals?

Please give me any info as soon as you can.

Thanks.

p.s. I have always wanted to go to Club 33 so this would be great but $150+ for DD and I is a deal killer.

As you can imagine he's having a hard time getting family/friends to commit. We are all in the construction business and money is tight.

TIA

Sorry I don't have any info, but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!! And you are so lucky!!!
I know there are a few people on the DIS who have been to Club 33, so I'm sure you will get answers as soon as they see this post!
It's a once in a lifetime type of opportunity so I would say go for it! :goodvibes

I know it would be great but that's a hard nut to crack.Oh, and add this in. It's for Thursday, Nov. 11th, Veteran's Day. The park will be crowded.

There's lots of good info here on the threads. Do a search on Club 33.

Pricing varies depending on whether you go for Brunch, lunch or dinner; you can also choose just a meal or wine flights to go with your meal if I remember correctly. I think the prices start around $85 to cover the park entrance.

I'll be at DLR in November -- My family and I would be happy to help fill those 30 seats. :goodvibes:lmao:
(she said, only half-joking... really - pass me a note). popcorn::

ETA: Ooooo, November 11? We'll be there!!!!!!

That is the key point is that park admision is included with the meal (Hence the cost). Also Nov 12th is the start of Christmas. So if you add a day it will be very magical indeed.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity (at least for most people; people would give hundreds of dollars per person, to dine there) so please, please, PLEASE, for the sake of us all go! :lmao:

I don't have much information either, but I know quite a few people here in on the Dis know lots about Club 33..

Report back please! :wizard:

Found some info online. Totally makes sense about covering the price of admission. If my AP was still valid (exp. 10-18) I wouldn't even consider it since I would be able to get into both parks anyway.

Still have to think more on this. If only I had more disposable income right now. What with the trip to WDW recently and last night's visit to the Halloween party!;)

I know it's a once in a lifetime chance. Only wish there was someone else in my life who could foot the bill!

Lots of Disney goodness there. :-)

I think the cost is more like $78.00 but this is second hand information because I have never been...

Thanks, should have looked at allearsnet.com first:goodvibes

The menu there is about 1-1/2 yrs. old. Does anyone know if it's still the same? Lunch looks interesting. Love the idea of a buffet with cold lobster and crab legs.

Maybe we should do this......

I like the idea of lunch vs. dinner since you don't have to be as dressed up as you do for dinner. But I don't know if the meal he won was for lunch or dinner. I'll have to have my DM call him (it's her brother). I don't drink wine so I guess I can keep the price under control.

What an amazing outing he is planning - 30 people at Club 33!!!

Go. Don't think about it again. Go.

Here's the thing: 1 year from now... will you miss the money? Probably not and you will cherish the memories of a unique opportunity.

Also, here's another thought for you. You mentioned the invite came from your uncle. If you explained to him that you are very excited about the invitation, but the finances are a little much right now, would he be willing/able to pay for you and you could pay him back in increments? Just a suggestion.

Also, try to think of it this way: It's a free visit! If you do not have an AP, view it as paying for a day at Disneyland/DCA with a free meal at Club 33. (I know MANY people with APs who would pay for their meal if given the chance to go, simply because of the opportunity.) :goodvibes

One last thought for you: Could you go without DD? This could be Mom's fun day. :wizard:

Go. Honestly, do you want to miss out on it? Nah. It's one of those invites in life you don't want to pass on when it comes your way.

P.S. If your uncle is having trouble filling all the spots, we'd be happy to join the group so the spots don't go to waste. (yes, everyone, I'm joking!)

The way the pricing works is that the cost of your meal must cover the cost of your ticket. So if you can't go cheaper than the price of a one day admission. Not sure how it works with kids and whether the price for them is the price for their admission (but would assume so).

I was lucky enough to go last year. I know that it is a lot of money to splash out for a meal, but it is worth it. The food was yummy, the atmosphere was great and you are not rushed at all through the experience. I think we were there around 2 hours. So I would say do this meal in place of other "treats" you might be inclined to give yourself and in lieu of other presents you might give one another.

Congratulations!!!! Club 33 is an amazing experience (we had the pleasure of having lunch there for my son's birthday this year)!

Yes, the price of the meal includes a 1 day park-hopper ticket so the minimum price you would pay is the one-day ticket price (it is adjusted down to the child's ticket price for children 9 and under). Older children can order from the kid's menu, but will still be charged the adult price (and receive a larger portion). Also, that does not include alcoholic beverages or tip. Actually, I'm not sure if it includes beverages at all...maybe not. Also keep in mind that there are items you can buy inside (baseball hats, Club 33 ears, etc) that you can only buy there and those can also be pretty expensive.

But having said that....it was the experience of a lifetime! It did cost a fortune for our family of 4 (and we had valid APs that day) but I would not have changed the experience for anything.

In the old days when the economy was booming I don't think it would have been an issue-uncle would have treated. But he can't afford it right now (I mean treating us all)

He has 3 grown kids with a total of 8 grandkids.1 under 3, and most of the others over 9. (all live in So. O.C.) I know his son doesn't want to go "I don't want to spend 2 hours at dinner!" He's one of those that doesn't really even like Disney. He went to Orlando last year with his DS3 and his dad (my uncle) and they only went to one park-AK-and he didn't enjoy it. :confused3 If one of his DD goes I'm sure he would pay for it (she's a single mom of 2) therefore he would have to pay for the other DD and her DH, and 4 kids. 3 over 9. (you know, to keep things fair!).

So he will more than likely be paying for his DW, 2 DD, 1 DSiL, and 6 grandkids. And when the DS learns they others are all going on his dad's dime, he may change his mind and go as well. So with him paying for from 11-13 people already I don't think it's likely he'll pay for me-even though I worked for him for over 20 years.;)

I couldn't leave DD11 out of it. She would be devasted.:sad2: She loves Disney almost as much as I do! And if my DM goes as well there's no way DD11 would be anything but miserable being left out. Look at that face in my sigge-how could you say no to that!

I'm leaning towards going but I want to find out which meal we are talking about. I think I would enjoy lunch more.

Though I do like the idea of being able to see F! from the balcony. :wizard:

Wow! Sounds like a very generous person. I would feel funny asking him to pay, as well, but maybe a forward loan? Just a thought.

Excellent point! I was not sure if she would feel dragged along or left out. Can't leave her out! :)

There you go. Let it "brew" a little. Lunch is nice, but remember that the view from the balcony at night is pretty special. Either is nice, to be honest.

Sounds like part of your Christmas present to me! Go!!! Our kids have been told our cruise on the Wonder in January is part of theirs. I know my 14 year old understands that and so will an 11 year old.

Like others have said, the meals are the price of a one day ticket. When I went back in...March, April?...it was a minimum of $72, which was the price of a one day ticket back then. Since prices have gone up, I would assume so has the meal price.

My friend got the "special" wine pairing course, which was a set $ amount, whereas I just got a regular 3 course meal, I think it was, where each course had different pricing, ranging from $15-$28 or so. Or maybe it was 5 courses...I honestly can't remember! I think I was on such a high from even being there that I can't remember much, except that I had so much food I couldn't finish my main meal and the interior is gorgeous! (Don't go for the wilderness room on the right, though, it's not worth the price you're paying. You definitely want the Napoleon room on the left and down the hallway).

From what I remember of the food, you got to choose an appetizer, main course and dessert, but I feel like there was more...I couldn't have been full for my main chicken meal on just butternut squash soup for an appetizer. It was worth the price, in my opinion, and soda and alcohol were included, if I recall correctly. I know I missed the minimum by about $10, including the soda and alcohol, so you've got a choice: order more food per person than you can and maybe waste some of it (there was no way I was asking them for a to go bag, but I'm sure they would have given me one) or order just enough but possibly not hit the minimum, making it more expensive per item. My alcoholic drink was literally only $7 or $8 (Cape Cod), and the soda $2.50, $3ish.

I ended up spending about $200, because with the minimum of $72, and then tip on top of that, my meal came to about $87, I believe. Then, I bought about $90 worth of merchandise, but it was sooooo worth it! I know the cost is probably hard to deal with, but this is practically a once in a lifetime experience - had I not gone, I would be kicking myself for a very long time!

The few pictures of the food that we got before digging in:

Appetizer, I think

Ok, now I'm hungry!!

So did you find out which meal it's for Disneydaz???

Sure hope you're able to go! :goodvibes

I'm gonna post here because I have no shame and am frantically looking for club 33 reservations. I'm about to celebrate my first wedding anniversary this december and would love to spend it at the place where I proposed to my wife, club 33. I've been looking everywhere for any auctions and stumbled across this site and this thread. I'd be more than happy to pay for your meal if you could possibly get me reservations in december. i'm sure my attempt is an exercise if futility, but like i said, i have no shame and i'll do anything for my wife... if you or anyone else reading this is interested in helping me out, makoy4031 @ sbcglobal.net
