Wow...I had not heard about those new rules.I had almost worked up the courage to ask my father's friend for a reservation next year for mine and DH's 20th anniversary. But they haven't been as close lately so I have been reluctant to ask. But now I just lost my nerve again. I could not ask them to use one of their 20 bookings on us.
I am extremely grateful that he was able to get us a reservation 4 years ago for my DS's birthday, so at least we did get the opportunity to dine there once.![]()
If your Dad is still friends with this contact I would absolutely 100% ask. The only 2 answers are yes or no and if you don't ask you will always regret it. Always.
Well, I heard back from my contact. They are definitely still willing to help me out, and attempt to make a reservation for us. So obviously now my hope (fingers crossed) is that 14 days out for a Monday-Thursday will still be available for the time we will be in town. (I should note that we are traveling from far away, and are constricted to a certain timeframe).

This is excellent news, I will keep my fingers crossed for you getting a reservation!
I was lucky enough to be gifted a dining experience at Club 33, in fact it was for my DD17s 16th birthday. I was considering taking her to the parks for her birthday (just the 2 of us) and when I was offered the opportunity to dine at the Club I made sure to make the trip happen. See, DD is a HUGE Disney fan and Club 33 was on her bucket list, I was able to get a reservation for Brunch ON her birthday, which was a Sunday. What that meant was I got a free glass of champagne and she got to meet Mickey and Pluto while we were eating. They made a big deal of her birthday button and it really was a great experience. I was also able to surprise her, I told her I wanted to dress nice because it was her birthday so we both wore nice denim capris with nice shirts, we went to the door where I told her I was going "to post it on FB to freak out her friends, they would think we actually ate there" and after I shot a few pictures I said "so hey, why don't you ring that buzzer for real and give them my name, see what happens". She said "Mom, no, they will kick us out!" I said "will they? I really think you should ring the bell and give them my name", she said "Mooommm?????" and I said "Cass, ring the bell" and she said "Oh.My.God." and rang the bell. LOL The lady came to the door and she gave them my name, the lady opened the door and said "welcome" I thought she was going to faint. LOL It was amazing. She cried, for real, tears of joy and excitement. It's one of my favorite memories ever and we still talk about it.

I hope you have the same amazing experience OP and have the memories for years to come.
