I have been fortunate enough to be invited to have lunch for my Birthday in December at Club 33!! It will be a short weekend trip with my hubby and myself, the kids will be staying home!!

My question is so they accept disney gift cards in Club 33? When I have extra cash I like to get gift cards that way I know how much $$ I have to spend. Thanks!

About to say the same thing, such an elegant place.

Yes, they do, but...

If your trip isn't until December, why not take the money you would put on a Disney gift card for Club 33 and put it in an envelope labeled Club 33? It's a pretty nice place and I would rather pay with cash than fuss around with gift cards and getting credit for whatever's left over and all that. Just a thought.

P.S. Congrats on the invite! You'll love it!

Whatever form of payment you choose to use, enjoy your time at Club 33. Ask as many questions as you can think of because those cast members do enjoy talking about where they work.

If you have any other questions about the club, please ask away.

Not to hijack this thread, but I too have been given the opportunity to go to Club 33 in early November. I actually have a few questions as I have been reading a lot on this board and have never been.

1. We have a dinner reservation and will be in the park most of the day. I am curious as to a clearer answer on dress code. I realize no shorts, etc. Should I wear slacks or would a good pair of jeans/dockers work as well?

2. Our dinner reservation is for 8:15pm. That night they have two showings of Fantasmic with the latest one being 10:15. Do you think we will be able to make that or even be able to watch from the club balcony?

3. Anything else anyone can suggest as to things to make it even cooler would be appreciated...it is our anniversary and I was so very fortunate enough to have a friend who connected us up with this reservation.

1. I would do a pair of dockers before the jeans and I would do the dress slacks before the dockers. Folks in the afternoon tend to dress a bit more casually than those in the evening. In the evening you will see a wide range of styles, but mostly a "dressier" atmosphere. We used to put our change of clothes in a locker and use the restrooms outside the park to get ready for dinner.

2. I know people have said that they watch Fantasmic! from the balcony but we have never had a good sight line for it. The trees are pretty thick. There will be a flood of folks heading for the balcony but it's always been a pretty obstructed view. You will hear the music quite clearly as you dine, though. Our dinners usually last about 3 to 3 1/2 hours so we never get outside for it anymore.

3. As this is your first time dining at the club, ask any questions you can think of about the history. There are many stories about the club - many of them incorrect. The cast members love to chat about their time up there. Many of the waiters/waitresses have been with Club 33 for years. Our favorite waiter has been there for almost 20 years, and he's actually one of the newer guys!

We were there in early October for a couple of dinners and, unfortunately, the curio cabinet for souvenirs was lacking in merchandise. If there are things in there you would like, be prepared for a hefty price tag on them. I think of it as Disney pricing with an additional markup.

Enjoy your time at one of my favorite places!

How about something "official" :thumbsup2

I haven't found this to be true. The shotglass I purchased is of excellent quality and was $12. The purse hook was $15. We got a very nice pin for $12. The latte cup was $15, coffee cup the same. Ball caps are $15 or 20, can't remember, daughter bought 2 though... I believe ears were $20, maybe 15, scarves were $20.

I will check the status of the curio cabinet in a couple weeks, but pictures of a friend who went Wed shows a decently stocked cabinet, but no ears.

No ears, no pins, no hats as of 2 weeks ago. The latte cup was definitely more than $15. Pins were always $10; pricing goes up.

Sorry, but I still believe the stocking of the merchandise cabinet is horrendously poor.

I have to agree but the family got what they wanted, definately no ears and no hats which i was after when we were there in August.

After several visits, I still have not seen the 33 ears. But we have picked up the baseball caps and bracelet.

I don't know if demand is high or if stocking the cabinet is not a priority. But whenever we have been there, it definitely was not full by any means. And I want ears! :rotfl:

I agree it would be better to go a little dressier than jeans for dinner. It kind of adds to the whole experience. You may see people in jeans but when we have been there, most people were wearing nicer slacks. Have fun! :goodvibes

ETA: not only can you use Disney gift cards to pay for your meal, you can charge your Club 33 meal to your Disney hotel room. That was convenient!

I was there just 4 days ago (on Monday) and there was very limited merchandise. No ears, no baseball caps, no scarves. There was an $85 polo shirt, a $95 wind shirt, a $20 coffee mug and a wine tote (among other things). DH really wanted a keepsake, but after we both paid $80 a piece for our filet mignon, it was hard to justify anymore big ticket items. It was a fun experience and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have dined there. I took home lots of photos, Club 33 chocolates (compliments of our server), and bragging rights as my souvenirs :rotfl2:

I like to do the disney gifts cards as I like to keep our vacation money separate. When I do the gifts cards I don't get them unless I am at a certain amount, plus I never have any problems spending whats on them I always go home with them all used up. Looking forward to it, my husband keeps trying to take the credit for it as he says he got the invite!!

My first trip with my kids (total of 6 of us) our keepsake bill was more than our lunch bill!:scared1: We've done better since then, and I don't think we even picked up anything the last 2-3 trips.
