Club 33 doorbell

Ever since finding out about Club 33 I always look for it when near there. I noticed a doorbell like button along with a speaker. Has anyone ever dared push the button, I am sure it is a doorbell that is used when you have reservations. But has anyone ever pushed the button without reservations? With all the buttons they have around Disneyland that are purposefully placed or hidden for guests to push I wouldn't be surprised if that button gets pushed alot. I have always been tempted hoping someone would open the door and I could just get a sneak peek into the entrance.

Yes, there is a doorbell that guests push to gain entrance to Club 33. I've seen it happen a few times. The guest presses the button and a CM on the other side of the door asked for the reservation name. I'm assuming their name matched one on the list because then the door opened. So, I don't think they open the door just because the bell was rung. If you hang around the door long enough, someone with a reservation is bound to show up. I don't know how much you'd actually see...

I've walked by a few times when the door was open. In fact, I once asked the CM that was standing inside, "Is this Club 33?" She kindly told me that it was and slowly closed the door. I'd like to get in one day. I'm sure it'll happen. Probably not this Sunday, though :-).

You wouldn't see anything through the open door but the lobby. Before the remodel there was a receptionist type desk and the lift. Haven't been since the remodel but hoping to fix that in 30 days or so!

I've never seen anyone ring it without a reservation, though I imagine it does get a few of those here and there.

I rang it once, but luckily it was because I had a reservation...I felt like James Bond, lol.

Ha yea if I ever had the chance to ring that doorbell I think I would have to video tape me ringing the doorbell and then actually getting in, otherwise no one would believe me. But talk about nerve racking.

Ding Dong Ditch at Club 33? Haha, I bet they get that all the time! Though not from mature guests like me... :rolleyes1
That's what I was also thinking about, I wonder how often people know it is Club 33 but can't get in, so they ding dong ditch the place. I was thinking more like kids ringing it thinking something cool would happen though. I mean after you visit Toontown and wait in the Indiana Jones queue I am always on the constant look out for unexpected buttons or things to open.

We were there a week ago, Tuesday the 13th, for our 1:30 lunch reservations. And yes, it was a bit intimidating for me to push the buzzer! A quiet voice asked if she could help me, and I replied that we were there for our 1:30 lunch reservations. She asked for our names, then she opened the door.

However, if you visited Disneyland any time prior to the remodel in 2014, you have probably seen what is now part of the foyer, the Court of Angels. This lovely blue staircase used to be accessible to park guests at the end of Royal Street, but now it's part of the entrance to the club.

I'm working on my trip report, with pictures, including our lovely Club 33 lunch which my husband managed to wangle from his work, for my birthday. Meanwhile, here's some pictures posted from the remodel a couple of years ago: Club 33

Sounds almost like a property that Disney now uses - Skywalker Ranch and Big Rock Ranch in Marin County. I thought that Disney bought it with the Lucasfilm purchase, but apparently George Lucas stills owns it and Disney pays him to use the facilities. They get curiosity seekers coming by the front entrance, and some lingering there will be noticed by security and told by intercom that it's not open to the public.

I wasn't even sure where it was, until the last night of my last trip in July. After WOC, my daughter and I decided to ride Pirates (her favorite ride) one last time before we went home. After the ride, we went a little further back into New Orleans Square, and I finally saw the door with the 33 on it.

We were lucky enough to accompany a member for drinks and dessert in the Club 33 lounge last month. We had been gifted a meal for my DS's 7th birthday at the Club before it was renovated but this was our first time seeing it since then. We were super excited to see inside the new club/lounge and very happy to get an updated family picture on the staircase :)

As others have said, the member rang the doorbell and the CM asked for the name over the loudspeaker. We waited a few minutes downstairs in the old Court of Angels (getting our staircase picture) and then went upstairs where another CM took us to a table in the lounge.

Just FYI...Members don't need to press the button and use the intercom. They simply pass their Membership Card over the 33 logo MagicBand NFC-like, and the logo changes color and the door unlocks for them. This also gives the receptionist inside the Member's name and other info on their screens, so the Member can be greeted by name.

Yea I couldn't believe I had passed this awesome secret club so many times growing up and visiting Disney at least once a year. I had to take a picture with the sign.

Yes I remember going into that court yard area, really bummed that it wasn't looked at as a cool place to take pictures now that its part of the club.
