Sorry this is inappropriate, and there are probably get lots of requests for this, but does anyone help visitors get into Club 33? My story isn't for an engagement, but trying to make a special time for my wife. I'm planning to take her to Disneyland in early December. She had a rough childhood, but she always tried to enjoy Christmas, so now I like to show her a special time in early December so it doesn't interfere with Christmas but gets her to enjoy the holidays. We do not need the comp tickets or anything else, but would love if we could get into Club 33 for a special dinner. We are from the east coast in northern Virginia, so I do not have any connections to know anyone that has membership there.

Thanks for your time and please forgive my boldness.

Here is a recent thread..

99.9% here are not members, I wish you luck. My favorite DL place.

Yup, sure are. We get at least a request a week I'd say. Just search "Club 33" and you'll find dozens. The truth is no, it's very risky for a Club 33 member to make a reservation for a total stranger that they met on the internet. It doesn't mean it's not possible, since there have been a couple of very, very lucky participants on the board that got a chance to go, but their sources are secret and rightfully so.

There's no harm in asking, just know that your chances are slim and I'd suggest making a reservation for Napa Rose instead if you want a memorable meal.

Just FYI, it doesn't have anything to do with where you live; or east coast vs. west coast. The best tip people give here is to ask everyone you know - no matter where they or you live. Some memberships are bought by individuals but many get in through a business/corporation that either they or a friend work for.

A woman my sister works with has a best friend from school and he works for a large corporation. So he took her and her husband (yes, they all went on the trip together) to Club 33 just a couple of months ago.

She asked him on our behalf but he wouldn't/couldn't do it. He doesn't know us and he has to answer for the guests conduct. That's why he wouldn't even send his friend without him along personally. I could cost him his job.

Note: I wouldn't recommend this next approach, and it was decades ago. But here is another way someone got in:

A man my sister works with grew up in CA and went to DL all the time. When he was a teenager, he and his friend decided they wanted to go to Club 33. They picked a large corporation that they knew had a membership and kept calling the CEO. They could never get through to him so finally the secretary asked what they wanted and when they told her, she said: "Well I can get you in." And she did, several times.

Some of your relatives or friends (or maybe even yourself) may not know that the company they work for has a membership. And it doesn't always mean only the top people at the company get the perks.

My sister used to work for a very small business that was basically a tax write off for BP. Once or twice a year they would send some top executive from the London office over here to the west coast to check out the operation. My sister's manager found out that BP had some disney perks and knew we were going so she kindly asked the London BP people on our behalf and we got free passes to the park and free meals for three days. (Also decades ago.) But we didn't even know about Club 33 back then. I'll bet they did/do have a membership and we missed our golden opportunity. Sigh.

I've asked around but haven't found any connections yet myself.

I just wanted to also chime in and say that there a million other ways to make DLR special for your wife during your trip, ESPECIALLY during Christmastime at the Disneyland Resort. You may want to look into booking a special tour. One of them even gets to go into the lobby of Club 33. Or you could do a special Fantasmic! dessert seating package. Or you could eat at Napa Rose. Or... or... or... something that will be meaningful to the two of you. Just some suggestions.

I'm going to hijack this thread for a second than get back on course. Did they take down stuff in the trophy/game room? I forgot what famous pop singer was eating in there so I couldn't look but I heard they did.

To your orignal post:

If there was a way to get you there we'd have it stickied. I would say no one on this board is an elitest trying to keep you out.

I want to echo what everyone else has said, network, network, network. We were able to go thought a business associate of a friend of ours. Talk to everyone you know about it, you never know who they might know.

Your question is not inappropriate at all, until the changes to Club 33 the use of the Club was for members and our guests and Member Events run by Disney. They have now restricted our benefits in order to sell private run Disney functions. So now the history and purpose of the Club is gone as Disney is selling non member events in a members only Club. So before I pull out of a longtime membership and very expensive investment I will be handing out reservations just like Disney. Only I will not break membership guidelines like Disney is doing. I will not charge above your meal cost.

Fellow members do not close your eyes to this. Our benefits have been reduced to make room for Disney's own non member use. Let's not forget the increased price.

Disney if your events are so great go use your new 1901 Club and don't sell out your history. Looks like you still need to bleed off Walt's good idea's as not much done since Walt has been above average. Seems imagination died with your founder.

While you offer is generous. You can't sell anything on the DIS.

Who said anything about selling?

Talking about selling, Disboards please stop advertising random in the middle of the posts. Don't mind you selling but that's like interrupting.

I was wondering about that. I'm not a member of Club 33, but my SIL knew someone who was so DW and I had lunch there a couple of years back. Any way the recent D23 event that ended with a dinner in Club 33 got me thinking. If Club 33 is "only" for members, and Disney took the entire dining room that evening for a D23 tour group, that mean that Club 33 members who paid bundles of money for the privilege could not make reservations because people who were not members, but paid for a tour, could eat there. There probably needs to be a separate thread on this. I bet some people could get very upset.

Club 33 is not open for dinner Mon-Thurs, so they opened for D23 during a time they were not generally open to the membership.

Ooh. Thanks for the clarification. That makes more sense.

Is Club 33 not open for dinner Monday through Thursday all the time, or just when DL closes early? I'd think that during the summer when the park is open until midnight that they could get plenty of dinner reservations.

My DH and I were lucky enough to go almost 11 years ago to 33. While we would LOVE to go again (especially this May when we're without our kids!!!), we realize that we were just really lucky to be able to ever go. :) We'll probably just live off the memory of going, and we feel blessed to have been there!

I can see how it would make a 33 member upset with "Disney's" made up rules on inviting other clubs in. There IS rich history in why Walt had this in the park, and the exclusiveness of it is almost cheapened by allowing just anyone in. Especially with the high cost of staying a member.

So I understand why you would be upset and think you have every right to be.

Good luck original poster! It was an amazing experience to be there all those years ago and I would love to go back! Enjoy every moment if you ever get the chance!

Non members are dining within the walls of Club 33. Heck if it's just a restaurant Mon-Thurs I will drop my membership and dine then. Same decor same, chef no membership fee. Sounds too good to be true. I wish they would open it for member dinners mon-thurs, us members can only get lunch on those day. Something is defiantly wrong here. Just so you know another non member function tonight. I wish I did not have a membership maybe I would have gotten an invitation. Looks like we are paying to stay out.

Jkh1978 sorry we took over your post, you have your reservation. The only cost to you will be your meal that you will buy from club 33, if you need the passes I can spare a couple.

One day ill take my bff there & ask him too marry me, he is the greatest man I know. I just sent ott emails to everyone I know along about connections forefoot one ssy it'll work out. Gl hun

The increased price is rotten (though I thought I saw that it includes a little bit at the place in DCA), but isn't the reduced benefit simply the reduced number of free tickets? I felt the "free" tickets were a bit odd anyway, since they could only be used that day, could not be upgraded, and were useless if you had admission in another way.

I think you're referring to the special events, but the words you use don't go along with offering a non-member a reservation. Because by offering that, a non member will be dining there. Ya know? :)

But the increased price is rough!

33Guy, while I can see it's frustrating for you, I commend you for offering your benefit to someone else. We see people on here get to go multiple times through connections while the rest of us get to daydream and don't have a connection. People are constantly getting their heads bit off for asking. If they can't ask here, what's the point? While they're asking a lot of a stranger, I guess if I had a membership, I'd try to see the good in someone on a board like this with a lot of regulars. Good for you and I'm so glad for the OP!

Thank you I see I am not making myself clear.

Us members bought into a members Club for members and our non member guests. And everyone knows we pay a high price for this. The membership we bought explains there are member events that we can attend as well.

Now Disney is offering Club 33 events to the general public for a fee and no membership is required. If a member charged for a reservation that member would lose the membership yet it's ok for Disney to do it.

Just is not the membership we bought. Also lost our guest pass. Once we are into it with years of investment it is not easy to just walk away.

Disney lied to us by saying they have limited our allotment of free comp tickets to make the club more available to members when in fact they want more avalibity for their own use.

Disney best decide whether the are running a members Club or a tour / event facility. I don't think it should be both. Club 33 has been a sucsesfull club for 45 years and now they want ruin it. D23 has run out of things to offer so they are selling Club 33 events. They might as well give the members something back and just use Club 33 as an upscale restaurant. They are letting people in as they please anyway.

Anyway as I said it is nolonger the membership the members bought. And let's not fool ourselves. These changes were not made for the benifate of the members.
