The 10 day weather forecast for Orlando has our first day down as 'CLOUDY'

But it will be 74 degF

Hi,

I don't want to put the dampners on your fab holiday but when we were out there for Christmas last year the temperature was under it's usual by 10F and only reached 75F twice in the whole 3 weeks we were there. It only rained once but boy did it rain and on Christmas Day too!! but it was chilly most days and at night we all had coats, hats and gloves on.

It was really weord because like everyone else we packed for really warm weather but because we were staying in DC for 3 days on the way back with temperatures expecting to hit the 5F we had packed for really cold weather and as it turned out we ended up wearing the DC clothes for most of the Orlando days!! By contrast on 2 of the DC days we were sweltering!!

Not once did we wear shorts or 3/4 trousers or short sleeved tops etc and on the warm days we still had to wear a fleece or heavy top for most of the day! :guilty:

We used to watch the weather channel every night to plan what to we were going to do the next day and they kept saying that it was unusually freakish that the temperature was down by 10F on it's usual and DC was up by 20F on it's usual.

I would suggest you take some heavy tops and at least a pair of gloves!! :wave2:

When in Orlando I am happy with any weather forecast that doesn't say thunderstorms. Having so much rain the first August we went (2003) we nearly didn't go again, but yay we did and hope to go again next Aug.

What weather website are you looking at Tim? I keep checking the weather on weather.com (my arrival day should be on it tomorrow), and it has rain for the couple of days before we arrived  but on the bright side the temperatures are in the low 20's (C) :sunny:

Me and DH keep arguing about this because he's adamant he's going to wear shorts and I keep telling him it will be a bit too cool for them! Anyone there over Christmas you'll recognise us as he'll be the miserable looking chap in shorts and i'll be the one yelling "I told you to bring a jacket" :rotfl:

Hey Michelle, I like yours best :teeth:

Yes, the weather is going to better on your site Michelle, so I think I will use that one in future :)

Hi,
My experience of the long range forecasts is that they are very rarely accurate. We were there for Thanksgiving this year and when I checked the 10 day forecast before we went each days weather forecast changed every day that passed. Whatever the weather as I always say a bad day in Florida beats a good day in the UK... :cool1:

Where we live you can always pick out the tourists in the winter....
winter for us is 75 degrees (on the really worst days)......the locals wear wool coats and boots, the tourists wear shorts and short-sleeve shirts.....it's most amusing....
