First trip in hot weather is 2 weeks away and I am leaning toward wearing workout gear of wicking leggings and wicking tees but have been reading that tight clothing is not good.

Stick with workout legging gear or try to find something else?

I have thunder thighs so I prefer not to wear shorts.

Thanks!

I wouldn't wear leggings (regular length, I assume?) in hot weather. If you don't want to wear shorts, I would at least get the capri-length or whatever they are called that hit just below the knee.

It's not going to be too hot in two weeks, might actually be pretty pleasant. We will be there around the same time and I just wear knee length shorts, skorts and sundresses. I would think leggings would be a big uncomfortable, if you don't want to wear even knee length shorts, light weight capris would be fine.

When it is really hot out I like lightweight, loose cotton capris with t-shirts and running shoes.

T-shirts so my shoulders don't burn (which they seem to do with tank tops even with sunscreen).

Capris also help with sun protection.

I find loose thin woven cotton way cooler than any synthetic wicking fabrics.

I wear leggings (cropped length) both workout style and regular at the parks when I go. I find the moisture wicking fabric is nice to wear there just so you aren't drenched in sweat or the quick rain showers that occur frequently.

But you should wear what makes you comfortable. It doesn't matter what others say or think, do what is best for you. If you are comfortable in workout gear, go for it. If you would rather wear a sundress with shorts under, that would be cute too!

Enjoy your trip!

I know you didn't ask but sense I have thunder thighs also, I am throwing this out there...if you get some Dove spray deodorant and spray your thighs it helps keep heat rash down

We're going in June and I'm struggling with the same issue! I hate when my thighs rub together - makes me extremely uncomfortable. I usually wear the moisture wicking yoga capris during the summer anyways, so I'm leaning towards that. However, I'd love to wear one of my many sundresses, but it is an epic struggle to find shorts to wear under them that both are short enough and don't ride up/wrinkle up so that my thighs rub together and cause discomfort. And when I say short enough, I'd REALLY like to find some that can't come past the mid-thigh of a 5ft lady! Any suggestions on that front?

Jockey Skimmies are my best friend for wear under sundresses and loos fitting capris/shorts

This is so true, I tend to do dresses in hot weather at WDW and the Skimmies are the best, plus very lightweight. These are the only ones I have found that do not ride up on my thunder thighs.

Yes to JKY slipshorts!! They are the best! I'm pretty short and they aren't too long on me, but the legs also don't roll up. Plus, if you have any sort of wardrobe malfunction while wearing a dress, they keep things covered.

I'm planning on switching things up depending on what we're doing. If there's a chance of getting wet, I'm going to be sure to wear technical fabrics that will dry quickly. Otherwise, I have some dresses and some regular shorts that I plan to rotate in.

Not to be TMI here, but ladies, remember that synthetic fabrics tend to be less breathable and can create some uh...uncomfortable issues downstairs if you're sweating in tight fabrics that don't breathe all day. You might consider alternating between tighter clothes and looser cotton, if you are prone to those sorts of issues.
