I always go on holiday with far too much stuff, however as we're flying to DLP I need to keep the luggage down to a minimum.

I need advice from all you DLP veterans!! lol

How much clothes do you think I would need for a Monday to Friday trip?

Do you tend to have the same clothes on from morning till bed-time or do you usually change in the evening?

We're going in May so don't know what sort of coats/outerwear we would need.

you will not need clothes for the night time the village and hotels are very casual just go in what you have had on in the parks, we will find that everybody does. We went end of may 2005 and had a freaky heat wave so check the weather before you pack and sun tan lotion!!!!!!!!! cost me a small fortune for it there....

We went in May last year and it rained everyday!! I normally take enough clothes for each day and at least 2 spare changes of clothes for everyone.

If things do get wet(as it did in May) I found if I left them hanging out overnight they were dry the next morning.

It also depends if you want clean trousers everyday - I'm taking 3 pairs of trousers for everyone this trip and and 7 tops/tshirts/jumpers (for a 4 night trip).

My DH always moans I take too much stuff but he's usually glad he's got spare stuff to change into!!

Thanks. I was thinking of taking a few pairs of jeans, I pair of shorts (just in case!) and a load of tops. It's just so hard predicting what the weather will be like. I will probably end up with a suitcase full of jackets and raincoats!! lol

Do you think 1 pair of trainers will be OK each or wil I need more?

I would say you need to take a spare pair of shoes in case they get very wet as they make take ages to dry

If you are serious about packing light, then you can definitely wear your pants/shorts/skirt at least twice if not three times each before it needs a wash. Spot clean if it gets dirty or use a fabric refresher product (like Febreeze) to make the clothes seem more "clean".

Assuming that you wash regularly and use deodorant, you probably can even re-wear a top or two (or plan on purchasing).

Plenty of fresh undergarments including socks will help everything feel fresh to you. I do agree that a second pair of shoes in case of downpours would be a good idea.

I travel light by:
1) making sure I don't take enough tops so I can buy a couple
2) buying all new undies before I go - then I leave them at home, take my older undies and throw them away.
3) Take an older pair of trousers/tracky bottoms for travelling and then throw them away - leaves more space in suitcase for souvenirs on return journey.

It's not very 'green' I know as I normally recycle old clothes, but I try to forgive myself.:rolleyes1

I take for everyone fresh clothes for every day and my husband and I change for the evening

I feel "smelly" after walking a day in the park even if I take two showers every day.
But to be honest its far more easy for us I suppose then if we had to come from the UK.

We put the suitcases in the car and the firs time we see them again there in our room.
That makes packing a lot easier.:lmao:

But I'm also the crazy one that packs an iron in her suitcase :rotfl:

The undies idea is fab!! I must admit I usually buy new undies when I go on hol's to take with me, but taking old one's is genius!!

I've got a mental image in my head of the cleaners finding a bin full of smelly old knickers when they go in!!!!:rotfl:
