I have an itemized list of clothing that we donated to Big Brothers/Big Sisters last year. Our accountant says we can claim this, but first I need to find out what the clothes would be worth if sold at a thrift store.

Does anyone have any idea how I can find this out? Do any of you own, or go to a thrift store regularly??

Some of the items I need to find out the value of are: men's suits, men's dress pants, men's jeans, women's dresses, children's clothing, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :)

P.S. Big Brothers/Big Sisters gave us a blank receipt, it's up to us to determine the value.

I would get on ebay if I were you & look up some of the items. Look at the starting bid, that will give you a good idea of what a resale shop might give.

I'd be carefull though! My BIL and Sis have been audited twice!

Thanks Bridgette and Janette! Those have given me a few ideas to check :)

Kirk: I'm not being facetious when I say that we are always 100% honest on our taxes. I have nothing to worry about, but I do want the deductible that we have due to us! :p
