Hi,
For those of you who have been to WDW mid January;
What should I pack for 7 days? Two adults three kids, and a plan to do laundry once.....a list would be extremely helpful.
I plan on shopping for clothes we might need ASAP.

Thank you!
Sue

Were going next December, and I think the adverage for when were going is mid 70's. I'm planning on bringing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and sweatshirts for everyone. Or you could just buy some nice sweatshirts while your down there. I just looked and the adverage high durring the day in Jan is low 70's and adverage lows at night are low 50's. So I say go with layers. T-shirt under a light jacket or sweatshirt and you'll be just fine!

This is what I told my sister. Since we are from Michigan, I told her to pack like it was for a Michigan fall. Sometimes warm, sometimes cold. If you pack for cool mornings, warm afternoons and cold evenings, then you should be set. Like the other person said, dress in layers. I also wouldn't worry too much about shorts. You can probably get away just fine with light weight pants.

We've gone in mid-Jan and early Feb the past two years. We had days we wore the winter coats we wore on the plane from Illinois and days the kids swam. I think the highest the temps ever got were right around 80. We all wore jeans or long pants every day and were never uncomfortably hot.

I took a zip-up hooded sweatshirt for everyone and another sweatshirt for everyone. Unless the forecast was really cool (we had a couple days with highs in the 40s) we wore short sleeves underneath. Don't forget gloves! Those cheap stretchy ones are great for cool mornings/nights.

Even when the daytime highs were in the 70s, the mornings were usually pretty cool. Check the 10 day forecast at weather.com. Have fun!

In the past week we've had temps in the 80's and 20's. I'm not kidding.

Normally you find days in the upper 60's to mid-70's. Very pleasant. You'll want jackets for the mornings and evenings, it's down in the the upper 40's and low 50's at night.

Best bet is to watch the weather for a few days right before you leave, and pack things that can be layered. Yesterday I was out walkign the dog in the mid-afternoon wearing a lightweight but long-sleeved top and jeans, while my neighbor was out in shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt working on his lawn.

I was just going to say that. My friends returned on Friday, and they had temps below freezing.

I would say you should wear a fleece jacket on the plane, with gloves in the pockets. Assume you won't need it there, but have it, just in case.

The 10 day forcast on weather.com for Orlando is 40 to 50 as the lows and low 70s as the highs.

We plan to take jeans, T-shirts and sweatshirt jackets. We will have a stroller with us so we can take off the jackets when it starts heating up and have a place to put them.

Leaving Friday!

Sadly, a fleece jacket wouldn't be warm enough for me to get from home to the airport.

So, no matter how else I pack, I must include at least one outfit for the trip down and back.

We've been to Disney World at the end of Jan. -once, and the beginning of Feb. 3 times. So, out of 20 days (over 4 trips)we only needed winter coat and hat/mittens 2 days and the rest of the time we wore shorts with a t-shirt and sweatshirt. I'd check the extended forecast and go from there, if it looks like it will be warmer then I wouldn't bring winter coats.
Last year when we went, in Jan. we left our winter coats in the van at the airport and ran for the entrance, better to be cold for a few minutes than lug 6 winter coats around for a week.

We will bring winter coats. I hate to be cold, and if it is cold and it rains, I need to be prepared. We will bring tshirts, long sleeve lightweight shirts, sweatshirts, fleece jackets and we will be wearing winter coats to the airport. We have those multiple layer winter coats, so we can leave whatever layers we won't need at the hotel and watch the weather channel each morning as we are getting dressed.

I think a lot of this depends on how easily you get cold and what kind of weather you are used to.

Yes, if I had a large family, I would likely have everyone take off their coats after entering the airport then have one of the adults take them all back to the car and run back.

But, I like to take the city bus to the airport. That way I spend $5 return trip (much cheaper than parking or gas) and it keeps me from overpacking.

I usually arrange my luggage such that I can tuck the coat/hat/mitts into a bag while I'm waiting to check it in.

If possible, though, I do try to avoid wearing heavy boots.

When we were there in early Feb. we got very typical FL weather. One day high of 78, one day low of 40 and the rest 65-70!

I dont know if you have boys or girls but capri pants are PERFECT for girls!:thumbsup2 I know that won't work for boys but I know some boys shorts are very long like capris (My DH wore shorts most days we wore capris). 5 of the 7 days we wore capris, short-sleeved shirts (or tank top)and a sweatshirt over it in the morning/evening. We all packed 1 pair of jeans and that was enough. We wore them twice. We also each had 2 zip up sweatshirts and 1 fleece jacket. We did also bring the little stretchy gloves and a fleece headband and we used them 1 night (with the fleece jacket). We also did laundry once during our stay, mostly our sweatshirts as we wore these every day. The only thing we didnt bring that I would pack next time was 1 or 2 long sleeved t-shirts. It would be nice to have under the:cold: fleece if it does get really cold! Good luck!
