We will be going on our second trip on April 27 thorugh to May 11 2007.

Our first visit was in Feb but would like some idea for what clothes we will need for May. We are assuming shorts and t-shirts for the day but have no idea about early mornings and late evenings (Feb was a bit chilly first thing and in the evenings).

I would like not to have to worry about jumpers/fleeces/cots etc...what do you think?

Rob

You should be fine - May is usually hot, and the mornings and evenings are warm too. Maybe just take one or two jumpers, or even just buy something when you are there - you will probably find you don't need to though :goodvibes

Just realised my typo on the first post and certainly hope I do not need to worry about cots

Warm - but definately take a jumper for any chilly nights.
Have a great trip.

Hi

We visit Orlando every year, last week in April for two weeks and I have never had to wear anything but shorts and t-shirt from early morning until late evening. The only think I do take however is a thin cardigan/jacket for when I am in the resturants at night - I find the A/C particulalry cold, especially as its so warm outside.

Hope you have a great trip, only 8 weeks to go for us!

I agree with Steve and Sarah we go either May or August and i always find the resturants a bit chilly in the late evening so always take a light jumper just for that.
In fact i always take it off when i come out of the resturant because the warm air is too warm then.
karen.:yay:

How warm is it compared to the middle of July? We had to bump our trip to the first week of May as well, we prefer to go in April but HATED July!!

I know what you mean. We arrive and leave one week earlier than you - and there's no way I want to be worrying about cots either. :scared1:

First week of May far better than July - still hot but not nearly as bad.

We were there early May last year and the only night we needed a cardi was when it had rained for most of the afternoon and it was slightly chilly.

Temps were in the late 80s

Sounds lovely! We re off in May and I can't wait to go! I'm just worried now that it may be too hot?

April/May is a good time to go weather wise , the temperatures can still reach the mid 80s so yes it will be fairly hot at times, however when compared to the stifling hot summer months of July and August then it's a much better time to go.

No mentioned the rain yet....

Maybe we were just unlucky, but one year when we went in May for a week (first and only time, way too short) it rained every day apart from our last day.

We went for 3 weeks in May2005. The only day we had rain was the on our last night.
Now when we have been in August the rain is every day at 3pm and lasts spot on for 30mins!!!:confused3 , then the sun is hotter than ever:cool1:

I think the weather is becoming more difficult to predict, outside the hot summer months when you know it is going to be hot and humid.

Thanks For all the advice. Sounds like I will be in my shorts and T-shirt for two weeks and DW will have a winter coat for the air con:rolleyes1

Seriously, sounds like good news, obviously we shall take our Mickey rain coats from last year.....anyone got any idea where we might have put them when we unpacked :confused3

So many of my questions answered in one thread.
We're going the same two weeks as you Rob (just a day later) and I was wondering if the kids would need a cardi for the evenings, and would i see rain etc etc....now I know.
Early to mid 80's - whats that in real money (celsius) I can never work it out, I guess about mid to late 20's. Lets hope it stays like that and all the crowds have gone after easter.!
Myself and DH went the same two weeks in 2001 and it was sooooo quiet, we did two parks a day (must admit though the MK didn't do much for us before we had the ankle biters), and we never had rain......
thanks all for the info.

Hi PoppyAnna,

The easy way to remember the temperature thing is to take the celsius figure, minus 1, double it and then add 30.

We are going for the first time in April (16th) my Brits guide 2007 has just arrived today so am trawling through that and our planning DVD arrived a couple of weeks ago so hopefully we haven't missed anything. This thread has been good though to know what the weather is usually like, I say usually because with all the global warming you never know!! Will maybe see you all there!!
