I am wondering what clothing we should be bringing for weather in California. Being from the cold winters from Canada we tend to dress heavier, but I don't want to bring too much clothes....
Will be in Anaheim for 5 days and MR Disney cruise 7 nights.

Be ready for anything from rain and cold to high 70's. When I went in Jan several years ago one day was mid 70s and I was hot in my jeans and a light sweater top. The next day it never got out of the 50's, it was gray out, and I was cold in my coat. Layers are your best bet.

We went in February about 7 years ago and needed jeans and hoodies at night. During the day it was nice but you could still wear jeans and a t-shirt and still be comfortable. Just do the layer thing and you'll be fine.

In my experience, January is always more wet than cold. Usually when you think of it being wet, you think of it being cold, but it's really not all that bad. A water resistant coat should do the trick. Also, be sure to pack some heavy duty shoes. You don't want wet feet.

If you guys are used to "true" winter weather, you are going to think Disneyland is quite balmy! We went over New Years a few years ago, and we were a little too warm in jeans and long-sleeved T-shirts. So I'd probably wear short sleeves if I was to do it again. At night it did get a little chilly, so I'd bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. Layers are key.
We did get quite a chill one night when we saw the wait for Grizzly River Run was only 2 minutes, so we hopped right on! Well, of course we got soaked and the sun had gone down, and our jackets were wet as well, so it was quite cold! But you'd be fine riding that or Splash Mountain during the daytime. Have a great trip! You'll love it!

Layers, and something waterproof would be your best clothing options. Don't forget waterproof footwear, wet feet make everyone unhappy.
For the cruise, definately plan on layers, and wet weather gear, just in case. At least one pair of shorts should make it into the suitcase, too.
