Closing times

I have been checking the operating hours page for US and IOA , noticed that Friday, Saturday, Sunday the closing has went to 7pm. Does anyone think the closing times will get later for the rest of the week? Right now I have a reservation at HR in August, but the 6pm closing time for both parks is a dealbreaker.

Hours will only be extended if crowd sizes grow. They are well below their ~30% capacity they are limited to right now. Everything but Hagrids has literally been walk on most of the day all week long so far. It’s possible crowds will increase in July but I doubt August crowds will be bigger as people prepare to return to school.

I’m assuming you want later hours because of the heat. Right now you don’t need extended hours or express passes to do everything in both parks in one day.

Honestly there’s not going to be a run on theme parks. Crowds are going to be much lighter for an extended period of time. This pandemic is resulting in 9/11 and great recession type behaviors. People are not wanting to to fly right now and many won’t be comfortable with flying until the pandemic is over. Plus international travel for vacations in the US will be down for a very extended time. Likewise we are in a severe recession where people are hoarding cash and not spending money on vacations. These behaviors are going to take awhile to change.

Don’t except normal park hours for Universal at all this summer. Maybe even longer, expect post 9/11 and Great Recession level crowds and hours for a while.
