Closing Question

DH and I purchased our points on or around 6/10/09. We have received our Dreambook, box of papers, credit sheet, some welcoming papers, temporary member cards with access to the member website . Will there be anything else to arrive saying we are closed? Do that let you know formally or anything? Thanks in advance...not worried about it but just wondered?

You'll get a slow but steady stream of letters giving you various bits of information after all that. Last thing we got was a deed or the deed or proof of a deed or something like that. Anyway, yes, you'll know.

i have the same question as you. We bought on 6/9/09. Waiting on closing also. supposed to be on 7/15/09. Hope some of the experts answer this for you and for me!

Closing is s a legal formality that doesn't affect your ability to make reservations. It took a couple of months to get our recorded deed from Disney the last time we bought direct.

I added on 50 points at AKV directly through Disney. I gave my guide the OK on Saturday night and the points were in my membership by Monday morning when I called to extend an existing reservation. If I had called on Sunday, they may have been there then.

I have not closed yet -- just received the documents yesterday afternoon. So, all Disney really has at this point is my 10% deposit charged to my credit card. That is enough for you to start using your membership.

The closing documents for my add on are being mailed back today. When I check the member web site it shows the points are there, but are not available for use. I just assumed they were waiting for the documents to be returned. It is funny that they do things differently. All my accounts are either paid for or have the MF current. No big deal I don't need them now just think it is odd that they are available immediately for the pp (toniosmom).

I am not sure what you mean. I added on at BLT 6/3/09 and my points were there and available for booking within hours of calling my guide. Of course, my reservations at to be after August 4th, but the points were there. I can even bank them if I want (June UY).

And, my contract is not set to close until at least next week since I delayed the final payment until July 5th.
