Closing out my "tab"

I have a much delayed bonus coming to me while I am on the Dream in 9 days. It was $$ I was hoping to have in hand before I got on board but b/c of employer contract negotiations, I do not. It will be direct deposited into my account while I'm on the boat. When does DCL close out your "tab"? is it an ongoing thing that they charge your on-file card for? If they wait to close out my "tab" until debarkation day, I'd be fine.

They give you a certain amount of credit on board. IIRC, it's $500 for a 7-day sailing, and maybe more or less for different durations. They charge you on the day of debarkation (or late the night before), unless you hit the on-board credit limit beforehand, in which case they'll do an interim charge.

And keep in mind, your gratuities may hit your account around the middle of the cruise. So, if that happens you could hit your credit limit before the end. Just go to guest services and talk to them about it. They can remove your tips and reapply them at the end. It's a little more time/hassle, but it will make it possible for you to wait until your money is in your account.

Gratuities have been prepaid so no worries there. And we do have a Disney Rewards Card , GC's and OBC's to spend first so it's not TOTALLY necessary but it's nice to know we could schedule a spontaneous spa appt or parasailing on CC!

IMO, charge everything to your credit card and just apply the bonus to the credit card balance when you get back home?
