I just received this e-mail - it states:

"Any resale contract signed and submitted to DVC administration for review per their Right of First Refusal on or before March 20, 2011 will maintain ALL the privileges as in previous years.

We have had many clients tell us that some DVC Guides lead them to believe it must be closed by then and that is not correct. You have 54 days to get your contract picked out and purchased to keep all the normal usages."

OK, so does anyone know if this is accurate? I thought it was clear from the discussion after the announcement that all contracts must close on or before March 20.

Take a look at today's post on DVCnews. Disney has clarified: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/okwmap.htm

The Timeshare Store, Inc.® would say that is 100% accurate. If you want to wait until March 20th, 2011 be sure to return your signed documents by 5:30 pm that day and be sure the seller does as well.

If it was me buying resale I would rather close before March 20. I have read enough stories on here to know that it is possible to get through the ROFR, then find out the seller is close to foreclosure or behind in the dues and then you can't make it to closing. Then if you don't close with that particular contract and you are past March 20, you are pretty much screwed if you were wanting points without "limited" membership.
