I have just found out that they are closing the Disney Store in the Burlington Mall ( MA). I can't believe it. That doesn't leave many options in our area, after they closed the big store in Natick and both stores in Boston. I guess it is because the store lost their lease and they need to find another spot in the mall. Do you think it would help if I contacted the mall manager and let him know how upset I am. I am sure other parents feel the same way. If I have to drive to another mall to go to a disney store, then I will do my shopping at that mall. Thanks for letting me vent

salem, NH mall has a nice one and tax free shopping. It's also surrounded by tons of other stores.

Just go right up Rt. 3 to the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua. They have a Disney store.

However, I'm very dissapointed :sad2: with them since the change a few years back. Unless you have young children, the store is now useless. There are very few adult items, no more collectables (cels, etc.). I think they ruined a very good thing. Just MHO.

this is really surprisiing as burlington amll is atop mall
they also have a disney store at teh square 1 in saugus but that mall pales in compasrsion to burlington mall

wow i am really surprised
i think CP only bought themfor the real estate i know someone who left Dsieny beofre cp bought them she was a DM and said CP made 5 offers beffore Disny ttok it so they def wanted it there has to be a reason

Unfortunatly I live in Little Rock, AR and ours closed here years ago and never reopened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I would die, but alas, I'm still here!!!! Just go online to the disney store, and a trip to disney every once and awhile sure doesn't hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are Disney store closed down at our local mall.
Likely for us there is two other malls close enough for us to drive to that have the disney store. But I wonder for how long? :confused3

I worked at that Store for 11 years and agree totally. The merchanise in the 90s was fabulous!

OT - I was very touched reading your daughter's website. My BIL (SIL's hubby) has CF and has been hospitalized so much this past year. I try to find out as much as I can since no one really talks about it - esp. him! Thank you for sharing your story.

I live on the Cape and they closed our store years ago. I was so upset I used to drive to Kingston untill they closed that one too. :guilty: I know their is one at Braintree Mall but is os sooo small. I was their a couple of weeks ago and was so dissapointed.

There's a Disney store at the Emerald Mall in North Attleboro,MA.That may be too far for you though. They changed that one a few years ago too,and I was also VERY disappointed. They used to have these really cute figures that moved, the brooms,Mickey and Minnie,Pooh, and more. They took it all out,as well as so much of the merchandise.I do like the sales and the clearance sections, but I really miss the way it used to be.Used to be so much bigger too. :sad2:

I totally agree. We used to spend tons in the store and then they cheapened the quality of the merchandise and limited their offerings. Too bad they ruined a good thing... Bummer about Burlington Mall though - they used to have some of the better selections...

make sure they aren't just revamping the store! They are doing that to several of them and it is about a 3 month project.

I was floored recently by a trip to my local mall to discover NO Disney store...but then I walked further through the mall and discovered that they had relocated it...I didn't ask, but maybe they are just revamping the old store. The movie screen at the back of the store wasn't working properly; it seems a shame to abandon the store set up with all the characters for a plain store front. Maybe they will re-open yours?

that's disappointing. The Burlington Disney Store was the nicest one in the extended area.
The North Attleboro, Braintree, and (I believe) Taunton ones are still open but they are small and have horrible selections.
Oh well. Not like I shopped there much since they were revamped any how
:(

There are quite a few DS scheduled for remodel this year. During the remodel (aprrox 2-3 months) the store will be closed or in some cases moving to an empty store within the mall. You might want to ask the store manager or mall management to make sure that the store is closing permanently.

Yikes-- not Burlington, too! Years ago I was a CM in Kingston and Hyannis and helped to open Natick, Watertown, and Cambridgeside and now they're gone, too. DH and I used to shop at Burlington when we lived in the area. It was one the last "good" stores! Man, do I wish a return to the merch in the 90's too (all those great adult lines!)

I hear Braintree is looking for another location in their mall. It's rumored that Apple outbid them for the space when their lease was up at the end of last year. The current location is a temporary one (short-lease), I hear.

Yup, Taunton is miraculously still open.

thank goodness we still have ours! It is in the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlboro, MA. Right off 495 and 290. Come on down! :cheer2: Happy shopping!

Hey, I helped open Watertown too! :flower:

I recently stopped working at the Boise Disney Store and what I was told was that they were closing stores to redesign and reopen the stores that were getting the most business. Ours is the only one in this area still open. They closed all the stores in Salt Lake City (from what I hear). I hope that keep this one open...it is such a great place to go and the CM's are great, if I say so myself!

They closed down the closest Disney Store to me at Briarwood Mall, and now we have to go to Southland Mall (which I think is about the only one available in our area! lol). What makes me mad is that Briarwood USED to have a lot of nice specialty stores like Disney, WB Store, KB toys, etc.... But like I told my dh , they have closed down any stores that are fun, and now it is one big teen and woman clothing store. :earboy2:

I just wanted to give you a heads up on the Disney Store at the Burlington Mall (I just got back from there - this is the last day they're open before the move).

Anyways, the store is only closing for 3 weeks, and then they're going to be upstairs across from the food court temporarily. She said it was a lease issue, and they wouldn't be upstairs forever. The sale was GREAT... I got a big $78 Incredibles snow globe for my DS for $14.99!! The CM at the door was telling everyone that this was the last day the store was open, so buy as much as you can so that when they started packing up the store at 10PM tonight they wouldn't have as much to move. :)

So... we just have a 3 week hiatis and then we can visit again!
