A friend of mine said he read online somewhere that they were closing the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. Does anyone know if this is true? I can't find any mention of it. I hope they don't close it, i enjoy that show.

Been rumored for years, but never seen more than a very unconfirmed rumor. While I wouldn't mind seeing them change the show up a little, I would hate them to nix this one, it is my favorite stunt show that I've seen in any theme park. I am determined this year to volunteer!

I wouldn't think they would close this any time in the near future. Not with the new movie being worked on. Hopefully they will update it though. I like it, but it is getting a bit old seeing the exact same show over and over again.

I wouldn't mind at all if they closed the stunt show if they brought in the Indiana Jones ride from Disneyland instead - one of my all-time favorites. But I doubt that this would happen since the technology is the same as Dinosaur at AK (even though the theming is completely different).

Not a rumor I even want to think about. Maybe if it was because the ride was coming in its place. But then I would still like both. I am hoping with alllll my heart that they bring something to add in because of the upcoming movie release. I am sure it will rally up a new generation of Indy fans. And I hope they are planning it now so its not out to long after the movie release. It would really be silly to do away with it considering there will no doubt be a strong resurgense ( sp?) when the film is out.

Maybe they are going to close it temporarily and revamp it to coincide with the release of the new Indiana Jones movie? :confused3

This rumor was revved up when the new Lights, Action, Motor Cars stunt show was put in. Indy is still going strong, though.

I wouldn't mind seeing it go away. However, with a new Indy movie coming out, the popularity is going to go back up again.

They use that stage for various cheer competitions sometimes, maybe that's what your friend read.

I saw it when I went for a cheer competition back in 1989....wondering...is it the same show since then??? Anyway, we are taking the kids, we rented all the movies so they 'know' who Indy is:thumbsup2

It is exactly, to the detail, the same show as back then. I still find it interesting. It really does take some excellent timing and skill to make it look so real. Especially in the first part. There are millions of people that have never seen it yet so those of us that have seen it a billion times have to be understanding and let it run. It is still fun the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or billionth time.

:thumbsup2

Rumor # 327,186

Acually I think we are at 327,187... :lmao:
I hope it's not going anywhere though... I feel like all of the old classic movies are being "put on the shelf" though now with all of these Pixar movies... They are getting rid of Stars & Motorcars, there are rumors that Voyage of the Little Mermaid is closing, and there are talks about revamping Fantasmic to "update" it (i.e get rid of the old stuff and add in all the Pixar movies and PotC). STOP CHANGING EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Walt loved change.

Never been a huge fan of the Indy show, or the Motorcars show for that matter. I always think they try to teach you too much instead of just entertain you. It's like 5 minutes of action and 40 minutes of narrative.

I wish they would just put on the show (like Universal does). A good compromise might be to have the narrative scenes viewable in a hall with a lot of TV monitors or something like that, that you could enter after the show is over, so that those techies who really want to see how it's done can watch and those of us who don't care could ignore it and just enjoy the show.

Indy the ride is WAY better than Indy the show in my opinion - a worthy replacement and much more fun to do over and over again. I think it's different enough from Dinosaur to build - I mean, they repeat dark rides and roller coasters, why not the jeep thing?

Love the movies, love the show every time we are there. I would like to see them update the story and the stunts. I think they could add a ride if they wanted. MGM needs more rides. Even if it is the same as Dino ride, different parks. I dont think most people would mind.
