I was looking at the calendar for Universal and see that 9/18 both parks are closing at 6p, even though the surrounding dates, including the previous and following Wednesdays, have different closing times. Anyone know if something specific is going on at the resort on that day?

I'm trying to figure out if I should go on a different day to gain that extra hour. I was planning on going to IoA, which is a UT-recommended park that day, but am wondering if I should instead go on the 17th (neutral recommendation).

I'm also going on the 19th. I know, I know, people say it can be done in one day (many even say both parks can be done in a day) but I'm a huge HP fan/nerd and bought a 3-day Universal pass. I can usually complete US Hollywood in a day (last time I missed Water World but that was due to technical difficulties with Simpson's). I don't know how it compares to Orlando, but that's all I have to go off of for personal timing.

The 18th, I believe is the team member only rehearsal night for Horror Nights (I think they internally call it "Advanced Screaming" night)

Universal Orlando has much more than Hollywood, so it's not completely doable in a day (unless you skip minor attractions).

.

Would that be a reason to avoid the parks that day or should it not affect my touring?

since you are going for more than one day, i don't think the loss of one hour will impede your trip at the darkside.

Oh wow, thanks so much for posting this! We'll be getting into town that evening, and my daughter was wanting to go ride a few rides for an hour or two - but I think we'll wait and go early Monday morning!
