Closing a phone conversation

I notice the strangest things sometimes. I spend a lot of time on the phone. I end up talking to a lot of people.

I have noticed that people are using different ways of ending the conversation. Some of the stuff I have heard would include:

“Bye bye”
“Bye now”
“Mmmmmmbye”
“Bye”

….And the one I seem to utilize myself “Bbye” but not as dramatic as the Saturday Night Live skit.

Anyone else ever give this any thought?

That SNL skit is one of my most favorites.
“What don’t you understand? The Ba or the Bye? Babye!!!
I’ve seen it a zillion times and it never gets old
:rotfl:

For Me…..I say a mixture of everything - depends on who I’m talking to.

And with that….Bye Now

Totally depends who I'm talking to and why. Family member? Most often "love you, bye". Friend? "See you soon or bye". Business call? Almost always "good day" along with either "thank you or you're welcome", whichever is appropriate to the type of conversation.
