I have two rooms booked at the HRH but my sister will be joing us for one night and doesn't want to stay onsite. Can anyone tell me of some nice lower priced hotels that are close to Universal. I have never really noticed because we stay onsite. I need to book her a room and want it to be close by.

Thanks for the help,
Lori

Have you looked at Priceline? You can get a really cheap hotel though them. Look at www.biddingfortravel.com for more information on how best to bid and a list of winning bids.
what exactly is that? I was a bit confused looking at this ... looking for a cheap hotel in Jupiter and another in Orlando for when we go to Universal again.

Bidding For Travel is a web site which helps people understand how to bid on Priceline. Users of the board post their winning bids so others can see the resorts that are coming up in a certain area and how much they cost. BFT also keeps a list of all the hotels that come up on PL in each area. If you want help in bidding, read the Hotels FAQ very carefully (in fact, print it out and read it!) and then post a filled out Bidding Request Form to the appropriate forum ("Florida - Orlando" or "Florida - South/Central Beaches") and someone will help you bid.

Does it cost extra to use this service? Isaw someone got a Jupiter hotel for around $30 and was looking for about the same, in either area. Don't really care how bad it is, as long as I can make it out the next morning.

No, it's free. However, Sheryl, the website's administrator, will ask you to bid on PL through a special link so her partner (Amazing Bargains) will get a cut of the reservation. It will not cost you more to use the link and it helps keep Amazing Bargains and BFT afloat. Just make sure that you fill out the entire Bidding Assistance Form (including best rates) and make sure that you read the reviews of the possible hotels so that you know you will be OK with what you might get.
