We are trying to figure out how to get to In-and-Out during our trip. We won't have a car and were thinking DH could just take a cab there and back and get it all to go...? We figure that would still be cheaper than a full meal in the parks including cab fare.

Any idea how much cab fare would be and which one is the closest so us "tourist" don't get taken for a ride, literally.

I have some info for you. There is an In-N-Out burger in Fullerton, about 5 miles up the road on Harbor Blvd from DL. There is a Henry's Farmers Market nearby for groceries that is reasonably priced and they have organic products. As for cab fare there, I can't help you out, as last year we took the van, and drove there on our day away from the parks. Check out the IN-OUT burger website for other locations near DL. Either way I can vouch that the Burgers at the Fullerton location are worth the cab ride. Hope that this helps you out a bit.

I highly doubt it is cheaper than just eating at the parks! The closest In-N-Out to Disneyland is 4.2 miles away at 1174 S HARBOR BLVD. According to Anaheim Yellow Cab's website (http://www.anaheim-yellowcab.com/AnaheimTaxiRates.html#anchor_41) it is $2.95 for the first 1/4 Mile, 65 cents each additional 1/4 Mile , so a 4.2 mile trip would cost roughly $13.35 plus tip, so round trip you're looking at at least $30 in cab fare.

In-N-Out is delicious, just don't pick it because you wanted to save money if you'll have to take a cab!

With the cab in all, won't be that cheap (unless you compare to a sit down dinner). But still, totally worth it IMO. I would say that it would kill a lot of time in the middle of the day to get it, but an evening or something works well. I usually get it the first night I fly in, doesn't mess up park time, etc. Gotta stop though, I have no choice...

Oh no, we aren't trying to eat there to save money vs. Disney, lol My husband has never tried it and has talked about it nonstop this time, lol. Our first ever trip to DL in 2006 we had a rental car and I ate there, he sat in the car..?! I think it was the jetlag or something. He regrets it now!

$30+ for a cab is pretty steep though!

Thanks for the info, we are going to have to come up with something!

A bit off-topic :rolleyes1, but FYI, there is a Disney Character Warehouse store across the street from In-N-Out. This is where you can find overstock park merchandise that is no longer carried in the parks for significantly lower prices. In-N-Out is on the NE corner of Orangethorpe and Harbor. The DCW is in the shopping center on the SE corner. My family and I enjoy stopping in there every so often to see what's new.

We have planned an afternoon adventure of hitting the Character Warehouse and In-n-Out. :cool1: Great minds think alike!!

oc_tony is talking about the Fullerton location, which is north from DLR on Harbor Blvd. You can get there and back using the OCTA #43 bus. The bus stop is just steps from the In-n-Out. Here's a Wikimapia map of the general vicinity.

The bus! I did not think of that...we haven't had to use public transportation since living in Germany 6 years ago, can you tell? lol

I know nothing of the Anaheim/Fullerton area so it is safe to travel on the bus with our 3 little kids? Do they do carseats on the bus?

I'd love to check out the Character Warehouse! And the Farmer's Market! Maybe we should plan this for our first day in CA while we wait for our hotel and then do the park that evening... decisions decisions!

No, you do not bring a car seat on a bus. Your kids simply sit on your lap or stand with you or sit in their own seat.

Are you taking a shuttle or private car from the airport? If it's a private car maybe the driver can stop by one for you on your way to Disney. A little extra tip in advance might work and most likely would be cheaper than a cab.

When you go to In N Out get the double double "animal style" mmmmmmm.

So, we have friends in Fullerton/Anaheim Hills that we were supposed to meet up with on Sunday... well they decided it'd be a good idea to come and pick up DH or I and TAKE US to In and Out and then eat dinner with us. How perfect! Now I need to sneak in a trip to the grocery store and we are good to go!

Thanks for all the info! We will keep the bus info handy just in case! I'm sure I'll give a report of our food in my TR when we return.
