Closest hotels to Downtown Disney?

The Hilton is across from it and Regal Sun and Buena Vista Palace to the side. The Holiday Inn is fairly close to. Just reopened from major redo.

There are a few Hotels in the Downtown area:confused3. I would check online and all are pretty good with some Disney features:teacher:. I believe they have most of the features of the on site hotels. I would try the Disney value Hotels and the Moderate Disney hotels to check the prices first:rolleyes1. It is worth it to stay on site if you are going to do Disney all the time.... Have fun..

We aren't going down there to visit Disney, but we do want to be as close to Downtown Disney as possible! The kids are staying home this trip since we are going to see a friend. Has anyone stayed at the Regal Sun?

Unless it opened today - it hasn't yet opened. I was just there and it looks like the work is coming along but still alot to be done.

We found it last October and it is outstanding. The rooms are terrific the free breakfast is a very large buffet with meats and eggs and such. It is about a mile from DTD. And I paid around $72 because they offer special rates before 10:00am on Thursdays. Trust me on this I have been going to Orlando for over 10 years and this place was a real find.

It is not within walking distance but they have a free shuttle

Do they offer this every Thursday? And....do you call them or can you book online? I saw this place on mousesavers and thought it looked great! We are wanting to go in October.

Buena Vista Suites is an awesome hotel ...stayed here several times in the past few years. Great spacious rooms and their breakfast is a nice way to start the day too. Its offered every day and you just show your room key to gain access to the room, atleast you did whenever we were there. They do have great prices too ...worth the few extra minutes to stay here!

We stayed at the Regal Sun while we were there over Christmas....stayed there for just under $800 for 9 nights. It has two portions, from what I have heard the tower rooms are nicer but we stayed in one of the wings. Rooms had exterior entrances (although ours faced the pool and a lovely green space between us and the pool). Rooms were not bad at all for the price, although a little small but for no more time than we spent in the room this trip it really didn't matter, plenty of room for two beds, a table and chairs, dresser, fridge and still be able to move around easily with 4 people. Room was clean, towels were nice and fairly thick compared to most hotels. The pool was very nice (although the heater broke while we were there as it was overworked due to the cold weather).
Regal sun is literally just across from DTD Marketplace. It was a very short walk away.

I stayed at Buena Vista Palace a couple years ago and it is very close to Downtown Disney. I walked there nearly every night for dinner. The rooms were nice with flatscreen TVs. Pool area looked nice but I didn't swim--I was there on business. The rooms all had balconies, though not large, if I remember correctly. One of my favorite things was watching the fireworks each night from the top floor where there was a large lounge area with floor-to-ceiling windows. Also, I went jogging each night on the path at Saratoga Springs, just across the street. Beautiful grounds and lake. So nice for a walk or jog.

I've stayed at the Grosvenor NOW known as Regal Sun. RS and Hilton are both across the main drag from Downtown Disney Marketplace. All of the DD hotel properties are huge and when looking at a map, it might not look like a long walk but any of the others are a hike- IMHO

** when staying at Grosvenor, I used the WDW bus system to get from the parks to Downtown. We shopped and ate in DD and then walked back to the hotel. I thought the buses for DD were just fine (but my trip was 7 yrs ago).
