Closest Good Hospital to DL?

Will be traveling to DL in January. My son, age 3, has Type 1 diabetes. While I don't like to think about it, kids w/diabetes often need to hospitalized, so I want to be prepared. Where is the nearest good hospital or medical center?

The UC Irvine medical center is very close and a respected hospital.

I don't know how reputable it is, but my daughter had a severe allergic reaction while we were at Disneyland and we went to the Children's Hospital of Orange County which was about 10 minutes from the park. I was pleased with the care she received there.

Both of the above are top notch hospitals. For a 3-year old CHOC would probably be better. It's in the City of Orange, directions from DLR here. UCI Med Center is at State College and Chapman, on the way to CHOC, but since CHOC is geared for kids I'd recommend it.

I have an asthmatic child so I know what you mean when you want to know where the closest hospital is since both conditions can be life threatening.
