Closest/Easiest rental cars to Pop Century

I will be checking in at Pop Century next week and will have approx. one hour to get from Pop Century to the closest rental car location. I have heard about the Car Care Center onsite, as well, as Downtown Disney Hotels with rental car companies. If there is no Disney transportation to these areas, I will have to walk. Which one is closer to Pop Century and/or more convenient? I only need a car for one day.

Rent from the car care center - use Alamo or National - the day before you leave for Disney call them and arrange for their shuttle to pick you up at your resort at the time you need, and you will be in your car within a half hour of pick up. Once you return the car, they will shuttle you back to your resort or wherever you tell them on property. And there's a Hess station right beside the car care center, so you can top up before returning the car without a problem.

Take a cab, under $10 total, over to the Dophin, and rent through either Alamo or National. It's about an 8 min drive back to Pop from there.

If you are an uber-budget traveler, you can also take Disney transport to DHS and walk over to the Dolphin. I am a cheapie and have done this... albeit in reverse.

Alamo/National at the Walt Disney World Dolphin probably the closest. But I don't know if they provide courtesy pick-up and drop-off service at other resorts. The Car Care Center offers courtesy pick-up and drop-off service.

Hertz at the Gaylord Palms Resort is also quite close to the Pop Century Resort. Hertz offers courtesy pick-up and drop-off service to WDW resorts.

There is no reason to spend money on a cab to go to or from a car rental location, unless the car rental company offers to reimburse you.

I always book my car(Alamo/National) for pick up at the Buena Vista Palace. I take the bus to DTD and then walk....it takes about 3 minutes to walk over to the hotel.
