closest decent off site to universal?

We are planning on arriving late at night and due to universal's high rates, I need a close, decent offsite hotel to stay in before we check in to RPR the next morning. Nothing fancy, just a clean room to sleep in. There are only 2 of us.

Sleep Inn on Major Blvd gets my vote. We stayed there last December for a night before checking into HRH. Decent Breakfast included.

Many choices since you are only staying the night. Pick your favorite chain, and go on their web site to find rates. Look at my site for a tour of the area just across from the parks.

You can get a rate of $39 at the Sleep Inn with an Orlando Magicard. We are staying there next week for one night before we check into RPR.

I say, since there are only 2 of you, go to www.priceline.com
and bid only for Universal area for around $35 for a 2 1/2* level. If that doesn't work, lower your * quality to 2* and stay at $35. You're pretty sure to get a nice hotel. If you want to find out how to bid with a little more knowledge, go to www.biddingfortravel.com
