Closest / Best Grocery Store to WDW property?

I know that there are postings about this on the board but I can't seem to find them - I even did a search on "grocery shopping".

I would like to know the closest / best grocery shopping to WDW property. We will be staying at the ASMovies Resort.

Last week we asked for the "best" place at the Boardwalk valet counter and they sent us to the Wal-Mart SuperCenter listed here: http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/grocery/grocery.asp

To find it on maps.google.com, I think the address is really: 4444 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746. DW said the prices were very good. It was the night before Wilma and the place was hopping.

Will you have a car and will you be renting it at the airport? If so, we like to stop at Albertson's at the Orange Blossom Trail exit on the way from MCO to WDW. It's right off the highway so it's a quick in and out. DH and I split the list (and the kids, LOL) and are done within 20 minutes.

From ASMovies exit past the guard house, turn left at the traffic light. This will place you on Osceola Parkway Eastbound. Go approx. 3 miles (maybe less) and turn right at the traffic light at the Gaylord Palms Resort. About 1/4 mile on your left is a very nice Public Supermarket. This is closer than the Wal-Mart, and is toll-free. If you go to the Wal-Mart there will be tolls.

No tolls to the Super Wal-Mart I mentioned above. If so, I owe the Florida some change. It is definitely not the closest, but not as far as it looks since 80% of the drive is at highway speed. We purchased $175 in groceries for the week, so it was worth the effort.

If you take Osceola Parkway to the new WMSS at Hwy 535, there are tolls. The Publix is way before that anyway.

If you go to the WMSS on Irlo Bronson Hwy, no tolls, but a long drive to a WMSS far, far away. . .

Dh made an early morning trip to Publix a couple of weeks ago. No traffic and no lines. He reported that prices were as low (or lower) as at home.

There is a place called Gooding's right across the street from the WDW property. It isn't cheap, but it is super close. If you end up there, don't buy any of their pretty bakery treats in the little plastic packages. They're awful!
